I am genuinely curious what sort of profit the average, individual members of these sorts of organisations make on a daily or monthly basis.

Oops

Every single individual pilot in the top 20 has more individual kills in just the past 7 days than your entire alliance put together can manage in a month....

The alliances have more in the past 7 days than your alliance had total in its lifetime....

Hell, even most of the titan pilots are on more kills than your entire alliance put together in those campaigns....

If people don't cower in fear from THOSE people, why would anyone care about R.E.P.O. ?

I am so confused by that post. To whom was it responding? My question about profitability remains unanswered.

I was responding to the OP...was just too lazy to quote him.

As for profitability - I'm sure the leadership of the various mercenary organizations makes some money, but as for the average member, most are lucky if their corp even has a good enough replacement program they are able to break even most of the time.

Though there is always the slight chance of stumbling across a target with faction mods you can quietly slip into your pocket from time to time, in which case it can be worth more. Pirate

Where do you think the money to wage wars in nullsec comes from? It's not from ratting hours per day, it's from the money gained from military conquest of regions.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond, though it's a bit more ambiguous than I would have liked.

right but is that profit?

also its not the actual act of pvp (destroying ships) that generates profit its the industry(renting i dunno im pretty ignorant when it comes to nullsec activities) that you perform after said pvp? so the pvp allows for soveirgnty to flourish i guess in nullsec. since there is none of that to speak of in the other places you can most likely only attribute "profits" from pvp as actual direct income generated by the act of pvp? maybe im overthinking your question...or underthinking...or something

so in the case of mercs since thats what repo did and what my experience is in i just immediately thought things like client contracts, loot drops, ransoms etc... in which there was definately no profit. any money made from loot drops was split between those on the killmail and any money made via client contract was either ppk (which you rarely get these days) or just flat fee which pretty much just sustained the war dec fees. and trust me there was NO profit from that maybe enough isk to sustain non contract wardecs or to pay for ships now and then but i gaurantee every single merc had other guys making money for them else where which is what ia ssumed most people did. they have their combat guys to blow up and get blown up and their carebear guys to ensure they could keep that.....lifestyle.

The answer is moon minerals, which fund alliance reimbursement programs. They also fund other things.

so back to pvp is not profitable. in certain scenarios pvp allows industry/sov related activity to flourish.

but pvp itself is generally never profitable

I make a profit every time I lose a ship, after I take into account the cost of ammunition, insurance, modules, rigs, and so forth; however, I will admit the profit is a modest one, around 5% or so. But that's still a profit.

Can I...errrm...adopt..one?
