That I'm sure most of you already know - but since I've never seen it in a guide I thought I'd post it here. To figure out how many m3 a group of items is get a container (any container though a station container is probably best for a group bigger than an available cargohold), place items in the container, read off the m3 from the container fill indicator.

Or start to make a contract. Step 3 or 4 (cba to actually look up which)

Yep, but if you're using a container you can pull things out and get an instance update on how much m3 you have.
