Focused pulse lasers and other odd loot

I have gone through approximately 2.67x10^85 Blood Raider medium wrecks and have yet to find a single focused pulse laser, never mind a meta version.

Judging by the price on these items (35mil for meta 4), they appear to be extremely rare. Are they only dropped by certain rats, maybe faction spawns?

I also found a hornet I in one of my npc wrecks. I don't remember seeing those before, but I don't check a lot of small wrecks and maybe that's where it came from.

Drop rates are a little funky. Once upon a time those YT MWD's everyone uses cost 10-13M isk because they were very rare drops. Now they cost 30k isk since CCP added a few zeros to the drop rate. Can't say I've paid any attention to FMP drops but I know republic fleet captain tags (NPC value ~50k isk) are one of the rarest tags in game and thus cost well over 1M isk each. CCP occasionally goes back and fixes such typo's in their database but it's rare. Even then it's only 1-2 items at a time when they do go back and give it a look. I don't think a proper review has ever been conducted.

You kept track of how many wrecks you've gone through?

I've got two of the meta 4 variety in my station loot.

They would have come from Smash the Supplier.

Judging from the tags, it looks like I ran that mission 143 times, so the drop rate is kinda low . . .
