Overview tags
The process of applying an overview tag is painfully slow and difficult. Enable shortcuts to free the FC to think strategically and not regret the work of rt click, tag, A-Z, A .. oops mouse moved the wrong way a little too much .. start over. How about: Click on target in overview and the push a shortcut like Ctrl-Alt-Shift-(0-9/A-Z). Let those shortcuts being configurable for each client.

Overview EW management
When in fleet, sharing information for close teamwork is vital. When a ship in fleet has a jam, other ships should know about it. If 2 neuts are on a carrier, other ships should know that. Let the client communicate that information so that EW can be assigned effectively. EW from other ships can be displayed so that it is easy to tell EW from other ships and EW from one's own ship. Let the EW icon display next to it "x#" (as in x3) to indicate the number of modules active on the target ship.

These two suggestions will make fleet work so much more enjoyable and really multiply the greatness of the one world MMO sandbox that is Eve.

A targeted ship should also show that it is jammed if a fleet mate jams that ship or if your ship jams it. It would be part of the fleet auto-broadcast/intership communication system. Corresponding to the purple fleet tags, purple would indiceta that an EW module or effect was caused by a fleet mate in order to easily know whether one's own modules are having any effect.

Additionally, the pilot should be able to customize what shared fleet info is displayed on his client. ECM pilots may have no interest in neuting or webbing effects, while FCs may want to see everything.

dude, i love this train of thought. I understand there is a massive amount of info that needs displaying and we dont want to over clutter the UI, however there is a noticable lack information display, such as the examples you have said. there should be a panel added in the options screen dedicated to combat user interface. this should allow several methods of customizing how you see these types of messages. if you want to see who your team is neuting, or webbing, repping, shooting, etc. you should be given the option to. I like the color scheme idea of diferenciating between your teams modules and your own.

I dont have time right now to delve into possible options but would love to hear some thoughts on what could be added. however unless ccp could implement this without over cluttering the ui, then i do suggest options menus, to disable seeing them if you want (or to repeat myself, have different methods of showing it).if im to tired and my train of thought is off, me sorry.
