i haven't been as active as i'd like to be lately due to what i'll call a "paradigm shift" in my eve career heh, anyhow i really wanted to just throw something out there and i had a few minutes of solid footage so i threw this together

and i'm sorry if it's upsetting to watch (i find it kind of hilarious), but i hope it does upset the people pictured i mean come on seriously? anyhow i get in discussions with people here and there and it occured to me that what you see in videos may not necessarily be indicative of what people are doing in eve, so i thought i would demonstrate the kind of bs lots of "large pvp alliances" do with their "large pvp gangs" under normal circumstances: the kind of stuff that doesn't make it into a video

i put this together mostly as a video rebuttal for people who claim that big sprawling alliances are epic at pvp, but information wants to be free so i thought i'd share it here too

also before anyone says something about carrier spamming in lowsec, they had a carrier in the belt and our intention was to hotdrop it, but he was aligned and we failed to tackle him so oh well, in the words of evil thug "lets try to kill some battleships?"

So you want a ratting carrier that escapes from you to come back and help a few battleships fight a triage carrier hotdrop gang?

You want some random ships in EC- camping a gate to attack an organised gang?


your video is neither upsetting nor hilarious, as you claim. Instead it's self-righteous and tedious and a good reminder of why 'big sprawling alliances' are good at eve - they know what matters and what doesn't.

it wasn't a ratting carrier, it was a tuskers carrier. we baited it with a slaved neutral thanatos in a belt, but he got out before we could get tackle (he was sitting at 70km from the belt)

the ships on the gate in ec- did attack a random gang, i was commenting on the hilarity of 90+ dudes in tech 1 cruisers attempting and failing to dogpile on one guy in a cynabal

What is this I don't even...

I cannot make out what's happening in 3/4th of the video due to bad resolution, and the parts I can actually understand make no sense.
You jump a gang into another gang and they ran, so?
You drop a massive blob on some BS in a belt and they ran, so?
You jump a cynabal into a massive gatecamp and burn the **** away...

To come back to my original statement; What is this I don't even...

i'm sorry, i fraps 1680x945 (my laptop's native resolution) and since it's not 1080 vertical, youtube rounds down to 720 :(((

That's not even our Carrier. I was there for that fight - as I recall the German Pirates in Ouelletta had a Thanatos tackled in a belt and we heard about it and made our way down there. Just a short while after we landed, a Probe lit a Cyno and Muppets came in with Faction BS + Triage Archon. Germans, mostly in armor BCs, scattered along with us.

Our gang was approximately a Dramiel, couple of BCs, a Tengu and my Abaddon. Killboard link is here but it's pretty goofed up as we killed a few Germans after Muppets left.

P.S. We're not an alliance

lol @ kids trying to hate based on how inaccurate my statements were

i just had a heap of fraps that i thought was gonna be good when i hit record, but people ended up running away, and i tried to make a blanket statement linking it all together

we never actually saw the carrier in the belt, the thanatos pilot said it was there so we sent in a cyno but once i loaded grid the carrier was gone

edit: for posterity, muffins was founded in 04 back when that kind of aol speak was not terrible. while we're on the topic of history, achura character means you started playing at a minimum after bloodlines, which means late 06/early 07 at the earliest. so if anyone's got grounds to be ~space elitist~ it's me. i herd video games were srs bsns?

It was always terrible, and certainly terrible in 2004. The facy you refer to it as AOL speak, should be a clue. l33t speak was last cool in the late 80/90s when it was used to avoid FBI monitoring in a telephony scam.

No, you have no grounds to be 'space elitist'. Based on what we see here, you'd be better suited to a WoW battleground format of pvp where people don't have options like 'running away' and no mechanics exist to encourage them to do something you might not want.
