I feel like for someone just starting this game, there's a good 2 years of steep learning and new things to do among the facets of this game that interest you. Adding too much content that seperates newbies from vets will make it daunting for them. For the rest of us, and I've only been playing since 2008 with some breaks inbetween, we've slowly worked our way through everything that could be of interest to us and there's a kind of deficit in the end-game.

Moreso, I find that despite the balancing efforts of CCP, there's still alot of trends in ship choice and not alot of choice for people who want to use something other than what everyone else does, because it pretty much just wont work. 0.0 is the biggest example of this, its all drakes and hurricanes, basilisks and guardians etc etc. I believe there's a pretty strong preference in caps as well, but I couldnt name them accurately.

I feel like we're way behind on content and my personal opinion is that the time to cross-train for multiple races, is kinda low. Amarr/Gallente/Minmatar are like a stones throw from eachother and once you have those three its just a small leap from minmatar to caldari. I'd like to see so many race-specific ships and modules that picking your beginning race actually means something other than maybe another two to three months of training down the road. To the point where even the people already cross-trained are going to have to look and see which race they really want to commit to in the next year. There arent many other games where you so easily get the benefits of every race.

This may not be the solution, but what I am looking for is more end-game and desireable goals for people who've been playing this long. In reality, not everyones going for supercaps, or will be able to. As with alot of other of the very long term goals. What Im saying is there's very little in this game that isnt already very well known and very well used, so maybe a huge pile of short to medium term goals need to be dumped on that in themelves add up to some good long-term playing. Game creators should be ahead of their players each step of the way and I feel like there's alot of people caught up to the leading edge of what they choose to do and they're just milling around doing the same stuff over and over.

There's always the issue of balance. CCP, from what I see, is very, very careful to maintain balance in their game, but at the cost of innovation. Make some mistakes, **** some people off and nerf and buff things until an equilibrium is met. Its not like everyone doesnt already fly certain ships and others hardly ever see the light of day. Yes they have specific roles and purposes, but some roles are hardly ever played because they just dont get you anywhere in comparison to others.
