The total number of days between Friday, March 25th, 2011 and Monday, January 2nd, 2012 is 283 days.

This is equal to exactly 9 months and 8 days.

The total time span from 2011-03-25 to 2012-01-02 is 6,792 hours.

This is equivalent to 407,520 minutes.

You can also convert 283 days to 24,451,200 seconds.

Just saying...

Peace and love.

P.S. If this new war expansion misses out FW in a big way, you guys will officially be bad people and can expect to be visited by three ghosts next Christmas EVE... (see what I did there?)

I see what you did. However I miss the point of the post, apart from your obvious mastery of time mathematics.

I think he means that it's been 283 days since CCP failed to show up to the factional warfare round table at fanfest and have continued to not do anything to seriously address FW issues other than posting that they are listening and talking and so on.

Also CCP stated that the theme of summer 2012 expansion is war which suggests FW will be included, or should be at least.

FW is all but dead. It was a pet project they have now lost interest in.

If so CCP should just say that and end it.

As always, CCP doesn't really care or they're keeping hush hush for a huge surprise.

Currently, it's definitely the former - however DUST514 and how it will directly tie into EVE could very well be in this arena too, though the current blogs on the DUST website don't indicate that.

I for one don't care so much about FW sucking as the fact it could be so much more - it's like being stuck with square wheels when you've seen round wheels, used round wheels, built round wheels...but you still keep the square wheels.

The NPE surrounding FW is incredibly bad - every single pilot in New Eden asks in the first days what militia is.

This is of course because the career agents for combat - the agents that every new player will do first because rookie chat says, there's a nice (free) ship and books in it for you, and WTF ITZ A SPACE SHIP GAME WE WANNA PEWPEW STUFF. As a result, every new player will get the 'recommendation letter' to join FW...

...almost as if the game is saying "HEY NEWBIE, MILITIA IS YOUR NEXT STEP. GO!"...

...except then they ask in the glorious help channel (or rookie), "Hey guys, what is militia and how do I join it and what do I do?" Thus commences everyone explaining why FW sucks and the new player rarely joins this feature.

More importantly: Literally in the first week of gameplay a New Player will be made aware of the fact that EVE Online has a horribly flawed feature they nearly got into - indicating the game is not well cared for and that there are other features that could potentially be problematic, thereby decreasing the opinion (and lifetime) of the game. Moreover, they may accidentally stumble into such bad features because the game clearly doesn't indicate that said features are broken or in disrepair.

For those new players who think harder about their games - which most long-term EVE players do if I had to guess given the nature of our wonderful cold-blooded community...these are the very best players EVE could gain and will most likely lose by virtue of them making an educated guess that CCP does not take care of the game and it's probably not worth investing the subscription. Quick forum searches will support this conclusion for what would have been an aspiring player - after all, a player with no account could have easily found this very post and realized how poor EVE Online might be.

TL;DR
Nothing new us players don't know - but I've said this argument many times that FW needs to be fixed if only for the terribly negative image it sends to New Players because FW is inherently ties directly to NPE through the career agents.

I CHALLENGE A CCP DEVELOPER TO EXPLAIN HOW FACTION WARFARE'S CONDITION DOES NOT NEGATIVELY EFFECT NEW PLAYER RECRUITMENT INTO EVE ONLINE - or better yet, admit it does and explain when you plan to fix it. We already know how you'll fix it - there's about 400+ pages of forum posts with ste-by-step instructions in case you didn't.

Jesus only comes in the fullness of time, and right now time isnt at its fullness so more waiting is required.

Apperently Hilmar only comes in the fullness of time too or tries to.

My energies are being spent fighting the wardec fight but I wish everyone who wants FW fixes/features good luck, and I think it is appalling that :ccp: have let this drag on for years and the lack of :ccp: communication on this issue is pathetic.
