I think the solution to the bot mining issue, should be a random mining laser "calibration" mini game, that appears randomly and is encrypted. Similar to the way we enter "Captchas" or other bot detecting security features on websites.

Make these mini games interesting, varied, fast and frequent. This way; miners are more engaged with the game and bot miners have a harder time.

That's my two cents... sorry if this idea has come up before I am new here.
