well?

looking at 3.5m thats a 700m increase in a few months.
in 2009 it cost 300m, i came back november it was only 900m.
how does plex go up 800m in a few months and to a larger degree that it did in nearly 10 years.

The market is run by players with supply and demand. Plex itself is a currency that is used for services. The price will rise and fall as the market dictates. CCP probably does not intend to change how the economy functions in this free form.

If you dont wish to pay that much for plex, Consider a subscription instead.

Keep in mind prices 5-10 years ago are reflective of less ISK in circulation (Inflation) aswell. 300m then, may be 900m now.

The last few months have shown that plex is now worth many services than just game time (skins/multi training/injectors), Increasing its overall value.

I thought Eve market was player driven? What does CCP have anything to do with it? I don't see them getting involved unless there is a glitch going on.

Keep in mind, the players in the null sec cartels pay for a month's game time (at least at today's price, who knows tomorrow) in about 6 hours of semi-afk playtime.

The rest of the player base, well forget it.

But you have to understand CCP ONLY cares about the null sec portion of their player base.
Their propaganda wing within the cartels will jump on that comment, but CCP's actions for years have proven that statement.

CCP gets involved all the time. Everytime they add an item or mechanic that increases demand. Everytime they do a PLEX sale to increase supply. Everytime they announce a big change that makes players hoard or dump PLEX.

CCP created skill trading. They allow SP farms. They leave huge ISK faucets unchecked. They made the change to granular PLEX. They allow AFK/low effort incomes on a huge scale (multiboxing Rorquals, AFK ratting VNIs, smartbombing BSs, ...). They do nothing against PLEX hoarding.

You could say its the players who ultimately use these tools to unbalance the economy and increase demand for PLEX, but can you really blame them? If you give players the tools to generate huge amounts of ISK with little effort and risk AND a perfect gold item to store/increase value, they will use them!

2:1 odds that, if a dev responds, it'll be "What we're doing right now is reading, very carefully, all of these posts you, dear capsuleers, are making, so that we can have a firm grasp exactly on what your concerns are. That's what we are doing, and rest assured that we are doing it, and looking into the issue."

Well considering you can make 180mil an hour in empire killing NPC's you could afford a plex in a single day, ISK is very easy to make :P

You are wrong that we need dev answer... what we need is an ISD to LOCK EVERY THREAD THAT COMPLAINS ABOUT PLEX PRICES!

Hey, look another thread about plex. I for one am really liking these high prices.

But, seriously, is $15 USD per month really so much to complain about?

Even CCP backed down from that figure, as not sustainable, AND carrier ratting requires the pilot to target every ship, its by definition not afk feasible.

2017.07.25 09:34:40 Bounty Prizes 23,425,931 ISK

thats a typical active subcap solo ratter, and even that is ~50% more than a vni shoots.

You'd need 12 vni's on the go to shoot a plex in 6 hours, and you'd need to do that 12 times, or 72 hours in order to keep the vnis plexed AND then do another 6 hours to come up plex positive.

I'l leave it up to someone that understands rorqs, but by the time we get down to rorqs only, we are beginning to talk about a very small percentage of all nullsec players.

IMO its being driven by injectors, and I imagine injector demand comes from all sectors of space.

I don't actually know why you persistently post stuff that is by and large debunkable.

The prices will eventually stabilize, it may be all over the place right now, however that is due to it now being linked to more services than before. Thereby making it more valuable and likely increasing it's trade volume. Demand is currently high and supply is lagging, once demand slows it will level out.

I'm no market analyst here, but if ITEM costs too much for my tastes or means, generally, I don't buy the item.

And even if I'm a special snowflake, who should have ITEM because I really want it...

If it costs too much for me to afford it... I go without.

So! In conclusion, Stop Whining About PLEX prices.

Accept the things you cannot personally control.

CCP Does not interfere with PLEX prices directly. They do however make changes to the game overall that does lead to price changes, not just in PLEX but in all items on the market.

Changes that have increased the price can be something as small as an item re-balance to a new feature like Citadles.

At the end of the day, if the players want the price of PLEX to go down, they need to stop paying high levels for the PLEX.

For example, if no-one is willing to pay more than one billion, the price will eventually drop. It's basic economics.

Sounds like you are advocating people quit the game. Because that's how it's going to go if CCP keeps a mechanic in place where inflation is so bad that PLEX is the only thing that holds its value.

Look at the buy/sell orders. No one needs to put up a buy for 40,000 PLEX unless it's for manipulation purposes. As long as ISK is so easy to obtain that it's pretty much valueless, the 1% will hoard PLEX and the price will only climb.

That means, of course, that people who can't sub (for many more reasons than they're poor losers) will be forced to find another game to play. In fact, it's already happening.
