Cal/Min pirate ships, and a proposed ship design philosophy

So the game is apparently missing a Caldari - Minmatar pirate entity, kind of silly, considering how many duplicates we have, ie, serpentis and angel (sort of, same factions) guristas and Mordu. Shields and autocannons? idk, thats not what i really care about atm.

I have another gripe with this game, sort of unfounded really. The lack of logical, intelligent ship design. While this game has a wide array of excellent and extraordinary ship models, there are very few designs that are grounded in reality (in my opinion) The Ragnarok has the appearance of having an incredibly weak spine, the Leviathan appears to also be very fragile at the nose and at its extremities, the Avatar has a giant hole in the middle of its bulwark, the Erebus is bulbous monstrosity. I could pick apart ships all day, so ill name a few that appeal to me in this regard: The Rokh seems like a ship that would make sense to build. Despite being a shield ship, it doesnt look fragile at all, it still imposes a (light) sense of fear. It looks like it has really thick armor built around a robust structure. The hurricane has long, angled armor plating, which would be super effective when speeding towards an enemy. The algos gives of a very clear vibe that its a carrier of some sort, with expansive, heavily armored decks that would fit space fighters (light drones in this case P(also, they are space fighters, they dont need a giant runway when you are in space ffs. Im looking at you, carriers and super carriers. Caldari is fine here)). Cant really find anything from amarr (their damn undersides are always exposed) On the topic of SOE ships, sure, they are a bit 'better' in this regard, however all ships have internal warp drives, why do you need to have those 'wingy bits'?

You get the point.

Good opportunity to check these both of the(my) list Big smile

TLDR
:
-Create Caldari-Minmatar pirate faction
-Have their ships' models be more grounded in reality, or atleast more realistic models (Rokh, Hurricane, algos (sorta))
-Understand that this is probably just a me thing and im complaining about nothing important, atleast when it comes to the models

Ive been asking for a Caldari-Minmatar pirate faction for years. i feel at this point we need to take drastic action to get get CCP to act...

Anyways if you actually pay attention to the Pirate factions as a whole you will notice that there are pirate factions have expanded ship lines. The Serpentis that follow Gallante ship line and Blood Raiders that follow Amarr ship line, Sansha also have a carrier in there ship line but thats another thing. So if CCP is trying to keep the game balanced then logically speaking next we should see an expanded Gurista ship line in the future sense its based on Caldari ship line (in design looks). This will only leave a pirate faction left for an expanded ship line based on the Minmatar ship line, this is something that doesnt exist in the game and i think will end up being the route taken when/if CCP ever gets off there high horse and delivers us a Caldari-Minmatar pirate faction. So basically no idea what the pirate faction bonus's would be but it would be based on Minmatar Frigate, Cruiser, and Battleship designs. then will probably expand into Minmatar super-caps and Titan.

On a side note, im convinced that the Ragnarok is nothing more then a scrap rebuilt Leviathan.

Just going to point this out, because I'm a lore monkey.

Eve physics are on the level of casually warping space time for storage and creating antimatter and exotic molecular composites. The ships don't need to look realistic, the thinnest part of one of those hulls is likely not only capable of supporting the weight of the entire ship at 1g, it's either able to withstand an antimatter impact or so easily repaired by nanotech that it doesn't matter.

you aren't the first to cotton onto the lack of cal/min pirates, but what are they going to be like playstyle wise?

Rather than sho-horning a playstyle onto something you think is missing (but doesn't need to exist), think of ships that can be interesting and unique in how they work (playstyle) and then make them cal/min.

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"

I mean, the obvious is some kind of skirmishy self-tanked missile boat. The problem is that all of that synergizes really well together already so it'd be hard to find something that both gives the faction their own identity but doesn't end up hilariously OP while it's trying to stand out from all the skirmishy missile ships we've already got.

I think if CCP were to create ships for an already existing faction it'd probably be the Thucker, since they already exist and have the whole Minmatar tribalism combined with cut throat mercantilism thing going.

So just found out that CCP is planning on expanding the ship lines for Gurista using Caldari ship designs. they are also creating whole new ship designs to expand the Angel ship line...

So yeah a Caldari-Minmatar faction is not coming any time soon but apparently Capital and Titan pirate ships are a priority...
