Make Meta 5+ weapons all Tech 2 ammo ready

I have noticed that Meta 5+ weapons cannot use Tech 2 ammo. Still they don't receive any power compensation for this. Higher meta weapons are very expensive so I would expect them to be better than ordinary Tech 2 Meta 5 weapon.

I propose making all higher than Meta 5 weapons Tech 2 ammo friendly. Tech 2 ammo could still have same skill requirements for using them.

Comments are welcome for my idea.

Extra skills needed for tech 2 guns and ammo, in fact 2 different skill branches, and tech 2 have greater requirements fitting wise.

Why yes I do have comments, I doubt you will like them so let's start with this.

For virtually everything that gives you better performance there is a negative factor associated with using that item. As an example MWD increases cap use and sig radius in exchange for the additional speed. T2 ammo has more damage output, better application and in some cases both and the balance for these better stats is the increased training time and the increased fitting requirements of the weapons that can use this ammo.

Back to your idea.

As in no way in hell.
You cannot have the advantages of the T2 ammo without training the additional skills AND paying the fitting costs associated with the weapons that can use T2 ammo.

Fitting costs of higher meta weapons need rebalanced anyway, in many cases.

However, the skills associated with T2 weapons and Ammo would still be needed to use the ammo even if higher meta weapons were capable of loading it. Don't let people skip out on the skills, but the weapons themselves should be capable.

Faction capital turrets and launchers are already capable of using T2 ammo, as a test by CCP to eventually introduce this to all classes of faction weapons.

T2 weapon skills are still required to use the ammo, and in general faction modules are superior across the board in comparrison to T2. T2 weapons are one of the few areas that this is not the case.

No updates on if they plan to fully implement this.

no your high meta doesn't require the skills, ie faction, deadspace, officer that t2 does, and because of the lack of skills and their better performance players put higher prices on them

I think letting officer guns use T2 ammo is fair.
