So here's how it stands currently,

Warring factions can permanently and indefinitely camp and store and use ships in another's system without even having to capture the system first, or do so in the process of capturing it.

This is in turn creates the situation where enemies can simply keep losing ships, warp out, reship, and escalate how they see fit almost instantly and without any risk of getting caught in travel, at gates, stations, and so on... (and as it should you know, in a war fought over large expanses of space...)

That said, agreed before citadels were introduced, warring factions could place down POSes, but those were considerably more risky to setup and hold on the long term.

At the moment, there is zero disincentive for an enemy faction to place a citadel inside a system, and just camp all day in one place, ad nauseam.

This is not how the faction wargame should work in my view, or was even meant to work i believe, and you'll find many agree with me, and many disagree too. Hence the necessity to discuss it, and hopefully get something out of it.

I must admit that I personally have very little ideas on how to even probably fix this, and would have to say am fairly pessimistic on how it could ever be fixed, seeing as CCP clearly DIDNT think it through enough before launching citadels in the first place...

The harm is somewhat already done and now we simply cant force the citadels out just because they're in the wrong system.

Although, could we at the very least "try" to suggest the following :

- Make enemy citadels in a friendly system more vulnerable somewhow and more prone to attack?
For ep: To have their vulnerable timers considerably reduced, leaving a lot less room to rally up to defend ?

- To introduce long enough citadel docking/undocking timers for enemy ships in friendly system maybe ? ...

They're only just starter ideas for the discussion.

So flame away lads and ladies.

Very little will be possible whilst a Faction Militia can dock up inside a neutrals (blue standing) citadel and vice versa.

Also: Faction Warfare has a lot more wrong with it. A lot more wrong than right.

Citadels are the least "broken" thing in the FW as of now. If the system is important enough or a home system for a big militia entity then it should not be a problem to reinforce it and blow it up in the end or just didn't let it be anchored in the first place.

The problem of citadels are their time zone "tank" and that is not a FW specific problem it is a citadel problem in general, also to a degree citadels are cheap enough. (so it can also be argued that current price is also a problem starting from upkeep costs to a citadel base price)

So basically everything you have said is completely right. Also as above Fac War has much larger issues then Citadels. Just reshipping just leads to more fights, the problem now is that all the fights are for things that mean nothing, and we are just fighting for fighting's sake. Hard to make good money in a way that makes for interesting game play in Fac War. Hey CCP hold a panel on that please! We will burn hundreds of ships a day for you if you make it interesting.

Alright back to trying to fight Nano everything!!
