I think you must read better I did talk about spending my real money for buying Plex,

for me is the sweet spot getting 2 billion for 500 plex otherwise I will not spend rl money for plex, I buy yearly subs

dont spend to much time on it and do something with your game time in playing eve instead of write down a thesis

I find plex to expensive to buy from CCP so that I can pay for you to play for free.
so in my opinion CCP must make plex cheaper to buy from them or increase of Isk for plex
2 billion for 500 seems me a fair amount

Look, another person who thinks they are a special snowflake and should have their video game time subsidized.

I want to buy a vacation home, but it is too expensive. I want everyone here to help me afford it. Roll

No, I read just fine. You want a discount from CCP or you want the in game price raised. Just as I oppose a price ceiling (a price above with PLEX cannot go) I also oppose price floors (a price below which PLEX cannot fall). Both are bad in that they distort the market and create natural winners and losers and we spend all of our time here lobbying to be on the winning side.

Let the price of PLEX be determined by supply and demand.

Hmmmm. CCP employs a number of fulltime economists to manage the in game economy. Is it a surprise to anyone that PLEX prices are soaring? This is NOT an unintended consequence, but as someone who runs multiple accounts it is wearing on my desire to continue to play. Most of my game time use to be having fun. Now it's all about grinding ISK which frankly is pretty damn tedious. I am thinking it is time to take a break and go play something else for a while.

You are pretty much embodying the plex market with your post. People willing to pay isk to sub multiple accounts = price goes up. People no longer willing to do so = price will go down.

I do understand why the PLEX price is going up, but what is sad is the hate going on against PLEXing of accounts. There are even some people hoping for PLEXers to quit the game. These people don't seem to get what a sandbox is. They don't seem to get that decline in subbers would negatively affect everyone's game experience. The truly pathetic part was someone hating against multi-account holders. He doesn't even seems to understand that the industry is being kept alive by multi-subbers.

Another thing is the ignorance certain people show when they ask why can't everyone pay for the subs (as the sub is cheap). Even if we ignore the people multi-subbing (which might mean 100+ USD for some), they seems to not get the fact that the economy is not the same world-over and that circumstances are not the same for everyone. As someone mentioned, the income difference of some countries are huge. What they consider cheap might be prohibitively costly for others. The typical response these people gives to these comments is that "if it is too costly, don't use" or in EVE parlance and as someone else said "don't buy what you can't afford".

As a sandbox, RL economic principles also dictates the in-game economy. What happened with the split of PLEX and the player response (hoarding) immediately before the implementation of that would mean that PLEX prices would spike for a while. It is possible to forcefully stabilize the prices, but that is not typically the EVE way. PLEX price increase will not be a stand-alone phenomenon (again, as this is a sandbox) and will most probably lead to inflation in prices of other commodities as well. Sooner or later, the price will stabilize again, but we can't be sure what the price will be then. And then CCP will introduce some other change and the roller-coaster will start again Big smile

May 9th saw the release of the new PLEX. In less than 3 months we now have almost a 100% increase in the price of PLEX. This is unheard of in the history of EVE to have such a massive increase in PLEX price over a short period. So who is responsible and does it matter?
CCP knows who is responsible but does it matter to them? Time will tell.

1 to 1.1 bill to 1.8 bill per plex in just a few months since they split plex into smaller quantites. Could even be 2 bill per 500 soon. How many players will quit/accounts will get cancelled because of this?

Worst change ever?

Just look at the average player count dropping. It hasn't worked out well, has it?

Demand is strong like it was before, supply dropped – that’s why prices go north. And supply is where CCP gets its money from. OMG, EVE dies… P

Work one more hour a week IRL and pay for a service you enjoy that pays the people they need to employ to provide a service you enjoy. Then you can spend 8 more hours a week doing what you enjoy in EVE instead of doing anything you consider a grind. For those that consider grinding ISK for PLEX for Omega an achievement in and of itself - the increased effort for higher ISK PLEX should feel like an increased achievement. Enjoy.

The decision to work any number of hours in game for your Omega that is greater than working 1 more hour a week or getting a job that pays $0.25 more an hour is your own issue.

I know, shame on CCP for not making sure every single person can play EVE for none of the real life money it costs CCP to provide the game.

After all everything on the internet costs nothing to create and maintain it is a free natural resource like the sun. Heck, if pron can be free why not everything else?

Not that many.

I know most EVE players grasp the concept of opportunity cost when it comes to "I mine my own minerals therefore they are free..." The same thing applies here. That is what the above post is saying. If your opportunity cost of grinding for that PLEX has gone up then you switch to the next best option, pay for the sub with RL money.

If you can't afford that...well...that indicates a rather rough situation wherever you live. Good luck.

Oh, and artificially lowering the price won't help either.

I think with the introduction of small skill injectors it might have increased the demand for PLEX. Small skill injectors are running at a price slightly higher than the large skill injectors. That premium to SP could be stimulating a demand for PLEX from SP farmers.

Edit: And the increased demand as PLEX replaced Aurum.

so instead of finding better ways to make isk the effort goes into forum whines and blame games.

most of us i'm sure have seen the player who insists on multi boxing beyond their ability to sub, they fall into a trap of more accounts = more plex = more time to earn it to keep their nasty little multi box habit going.

nothing wrong with multi boxing, but there is everything wrong with doing it beyond what you can afford and then finding yourself doing nothing but grinding to keep it going.

if you find fun in this grind to plex accounts to grind then off you go and deal with it.

i do feel sorry for those that find themselves in a country where 15 bucks is a large amount of money, i'm not sure what we can do for those people. perhaps you guys could work towards plexing every second month?

gives ya more time to get the plex and cuts the cost in half for subbing, after all, half a loaf is better than none.
