WTF loot table CCP ?

Hey

I just want to know if that is a normal case or I just got really unlucky.

I did a Serpentis Annex site, that require scanning skill, a gold tag to get to the second room. You fought between 15-20 BS, plus similar number of BC, detroyer and frigate. With my skill it took me 1h30 to clear both room.

Kind of hype to get a nice loot at the end of this process.... but **** me, no!! I got 1000 Large ammo of this faction + a tag that worth 3 millions..

Is it the way CCP work ?
- Train you scanning skill to be able to find that site
- Get a Gold tag off the market or lower version of this site
- Fight in a low sec system that make hit your D-scan often
- Fight thos 80-100 ships of all sort

and get 1000 ammo ?!?!?

WTF, reward in every game is base on time to get it, dangerous aspect of it, Risk = Rewards.. Could even lost my ship in the second room with statis tower and 6 frigate scram/web fitted.

1000 ammo... is that a thing ? or it is super rare case ?

PS: just in case, I did look on different website to know what to loot and destroy get the Faction drop

It happens. Annexes, regardless of rat type, can have huge payouts or virtually nothing. If one is lucky an annex will escalate to powergrid, which providing it keeps escalating to the final site has a guaranteed battleship C-type payout. But you're not guaranteed the escalation.

When I run an unrated site I expect ammo. Anything else is just icing.

So you're doing it just for the bounty, dont expect anything, if the drop happen or an escalation.. it will be an happy surprise... but otherwise... meh

Are they worth doing at all ? or just wait for those DED

They are worth doing until they escalate and you've seen the encounters. IMO if you just want money and aren't entertained by actual exploration, then just run ports until the ded with more or less the same loot table pops.

incidently, in the entire time I lived in vale of the silent (some 6 months), only 1 unrated came close to completing its escalation, and it had run ~30 jumps from Vale and was basically touring systems owned or used by PL. I gave up.

Good point on that, I saw some escalation put you in deep null system...

I was just going to do it for a change of paste, outside of pvp, and normal exploration...

I just don't know other way to do constant money stream outside of relic / data site... maybe I should explore more PI with a more industrial aspect of it... but I don't know they seem boring...

Best way to make money in low sec ? Outside of exploration

For what it's worth, Serpentis Annex in particular is a little annoying as it actually requires that you burn a relatively expensive tag. Still shouldn't have been 90 minutes, mind.

I run annexes for powergrids. Powergrids are easy and give several roles on the loot table (which, by the by, includes high grade implants). I also like the wandering aspect; if I have time I scan every system I pass through and often get 5/10s or 6/10s on the way and end up in systems I normally wouldn't visit. Kind of relaxing. But I guess that means I actually like the exploration aspect.

I run mostly Sansha Annexs so I'm not sure if the others are overly different but you don't normally need a Tag , Only if someone has failed to complete it and the gate activate timer has run out.

As for site times, Again not sure if Sansha's are just super easy (I think I tried an Angel Annex or Minor Annex and it was a pain) but I can normally complete them in 5-8 minutes, with a drop of up to 1 bil per Faction Rat (a large number of times you get just ammo though) it has the possibility of being quiet rewarding.

exploration loot is random. Sounds like you got a faction spawn so that was a chance at loot, most of the escalations also have a faction spawn so that is another chance at loot, and the final site has c-type loot which is another chance.

have to be willing to grind the crap sites to hit the jackpot.

Faction spawns in general seem to be nerfed a bit. They were supposed to nerf it so carriers couldn't afk rat all day and farm stuff but it seems they hit everything and ruined ratting for the little guy and didn't actually do anything substantial to make it harder to carrier rat so it only ens up hurting the little guys.
