I propose to reduce the extraction of ore mining barge, to reduce production and in the fight against bots.

If you want to reduce production, why nerf barges? Rorquals do most of the mining these days. In nullsec.

In case you have lived under a Veldspar rock the last year, a summary:

Quote:
It was more the change to carrier mechanics and how that effected ratting. Carriers are no longer AFK, so all the big multiboxers moved to mining, and with the introduction of injectors they're able to field large fleets of max skilled miners almost completely AFK.

Rorqual are more expensive than carriers by far, but they also have a higher yield per hour.

Rorquals have been nerfed since then, so barges might get more popular again, but i doubt they will dominate the mining stats again because so many people have trained into Rorquals. They will keep using them.

Yeah who cares if long time players of the game are driven out of EVE because the activity that works well for them is changed into something very different.

People, who just switch strip-miners once per 15 minutes, do nothing to EvE. They don't add content, they don't interact, they don't contribute. In fact, they are not in EvE most of the time. If somehow they will be replaced by bots - no one will see the difference.

So calm down, miner.

Yes! Let's completely change a well liked game system and see more players who enjoyed that activity leave the game.

Many people have bought rorki and capitals, and now they are changed, (relatively cheap ship), and they leave the game....
if i paid 8-9kkk - i wana good ship

You said you want to reduce production, but you want to leave the ship that is responsibe for the huge boom in production untouched? Basically you are saying: Nerf my competition, but not me.

First, they contribute their monthly subscription, just like you. This may be worthless to you, but, just like your money, their money helps keep the game alive.

Second, no one in Eve is required to "contribute" anything other than their subscription. This is just something you've made up to justify your style of play and deem it righteous, while those that play differently from you are playing wrong. Your erroneous idea that miners contribute nothing is what's slowly rotting this game away.

Good news everyone: EvE is free-to-play now, so no one cares 'bout subscription - it's all 'bout donation, SKINs and apparel. All of these "BUAAAAA i'll show you, i'll unsubcribe, you'll see, EVE is DYEINING!!!" we hear through all these years.

Second - boring, unintelligent gameplay will kill EvE more quickly than bunch of unsubscribed miner. If it will become not-so-boring and bot-like - it'll attract more people.

Make mining great again.

yes mining is boring, but it's more of winde down kinda job in eve. When I'm stressed from real life, and want to chill out and blast some roids.

Yes most people don't get why mining is an ok hobby, not just AFK and multi mining, but real mining. I love kicking it in fleet and chitchat, joke, and act like fools over coms or chat. It's more fun than most things I've done in eve.

No cuts, no butts, no coconuts!

I'm totally OK with people mining and having fun of it, i don't like AFK-miners and "I'm too busy with my real life"-miners.

Anyway, don't you want mining to be a little bit challenging and unpredictable to let people, who actually pay attention to it, get more profit than those who just want to "get ISK AFK"?

I guess that's what miner gankers are for, to give more of a reason than just than just to at least stay in the chair, even if eyes aren't glued to the screen, but at least on deck. I won't lie, I have lost a couple mining ships because I had to jump up "this instant" because the ol lady said NOW because I guess I was smiling too loudly or something in the other room Blink, if that's how you risk playing, roll with it.

Discussion on mining changes and mineral markets

I had an interesting conversation about mining the current health of the Eve economy with several pilots. It might add some value to the current thread.

It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross. But it's not for the timid.
