Like to the point where everyone and everything completely started over? If not, will they ever?

if they did, it would be all sorts of bad that you probably haven't borne witness to before. pray that they don't think its ever a good idea.

Yeah I figured itd end like that. There'd be riots in the streets I'm sure. The end of the world would come early

They'd do it just to see you scream....

They'd also take away the jita statue, so you couldn't do anything about it!

answer from release is: no
and unless they go insane: never:)

AFAIK the closest thing was a partial roll back to reverse an insurance exploit near release in 2003.

I think it was stated that a reset will only happen if a single alliance or small group of alliances controls all of nullsec.

Yes, after beta and on release, and no, why would they? That would be stupid.

They partially did it back in 2004 and it was hilarious.

They rolled out a patch that was pretty messed up and then decided that all ships lost in a particular time period post patch would be reimbursed. Then the reimbursement program got a bit messed up, then automated, then more messed up and in some cases pilots were finding the same lost spaceship (lost in battle, + insurance, + manual petition, + 1/2 automatic reimbursed copies) automatically appearing back in their hangers.

In one 72 hour period all the losses from a week or two of 0.0 spacewar were made good by a partial timeloop and gave players more assets to throw back into war!

Perhaps not quite what you were asking for but it was very funny (happened during the Great Northern War).

Define reset. Back in the day, there were some instances where CCP has personally did something to 'break' a player driven situation. If I remember correctly, it had to do with Mara or Passari and they ported a bunch of players to random spots to break there hold on a gate or something. I read about it way back, so the details are a bit fuzzy. There have been a couple of minor instances where they have stepped in as well. I guess you could call them soft resets.

sounds like you're thinking of when m0o tanked CONCORD and locked down the Mara/Passari systems (IIRC, two of the highway systems in/out of Lonetrek back in '03). Result was the CONCORD we know and love today.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia
