News reaches Gutter Press of a strange incident that disrupted a high society wedding on Afnakat VI in the Khanid Kingdom.

According to an eyewitness, a strange elderly looking man dressed in a worn Navy sailors uniform, interrupted three guests on their way to the wedding, and delayed one of them long enough that they were unable to attend the ceremony.

Curious !

The Navy veteran seemingly had supernatural powers of compulsion, and forced the witness, a young nobleman, to stand and listen to his speech for several hours.

Eldritch !

Gutter Press interviewed the young nobleman who had this to say:

"So, there I was, with two of my buddies, going to this wedding of one of our other buddies who's married into this Holder family, anyway, so we were running a bit late, and this old dude appears out of nowhere and starts talking at us. My mates legged it, but I couldn't move for some reason, and this old sailor starts talking at me, about the horrors of space, and he really gave me the Fear, I was like, transfixed, for like, an hour or two, while the old boy goes on about some tale of his ship and shipmates becoming stranded. I saw on his uniform, the tags of the Explorator Corps, but he goes on and on about stuff, I think the ships water recycling plant had broken or something, and they were trapped in an ice field, cos he kept going on about how there was water everywhere but none to drink, or something like that. Anyway, he goes on about something like, I don't know, the Sefrim maybe, and then all his shipmates fall down dead, then somehow or other his ship ends up back in port, and then he finished up saying that one must love all God's creatures. Then I found I could move again, so I legged it. Seriously, that guy had like, a really creepy eye. Not one of those cyber ones either."

Bizarre !

While the Khanid Kingdom still lies outside the official jurisdiction of the Theology Council, incidents like this are sure to cause concern amongst some members of the Imperial Orthodoxy. Gutter Press spoke with one to get an opinion.

"Sounds like some kind of hypnotic compulsion. Being able to transfix someone with a gaze. Curious. Though, that thing about how one must love all of God's creation, that's a bit more worrying. You see that a lot in some of the Sabik heresies. There's something not right about this whole thing, I can tell you that. Keep an eye out, would you ?"

Baffling !

Whatever phenomena are behind these kinds of events, Gutter Press will continue to be the first to report them.

*ARG* I thought I told Mr. Johanes Beaumonte to stay in Genesis exploring relic sites.

Not that it was him of course. But in case it might be, I'll send out a search term to ID his whereabouts...

Oh, I remember him. He kind of makes the rounds. I didn't quite follow all of his rambling, but some of the things he said struck me as.. relevant to the capsuleer condition, let's say, so they've stuck with me:

Strange Navy Veteran wrote:

The many men, so beautiful!
And they all dead did lie:
And a thousand thousand slimy things
Lived on; and so did I.

Haunting.

That's why you have that eye implant thing, isn't it, Jev ?

The hypnotic suggestion thing doesn't work on cyber-eyes, I'll guess.

Stranger things have happened without String Theory.
Find out if there was radiation or just radio.
His eye is his mind wondering how something eating at him might influence another victim.
So the anomalous fungUloid upheavals.
Is your compound hypoallergenic?
You wouldn't know how to stop it until the aggravant is persecuted through the brine with b'rhyme.
A therapy session with licensed professionals. Accredited with knowing multiple stratagems of moral manipulation.
The worse the morals the easier to fungal something or someone. Because fungals are evil and proud at the same time.
Like a dead king reanimated by a fungUloid's pride in consuming the materia. Not the soul mind you.
Materia like bones and flesh, consumed through the decomposition cycle while the body rots.
The soul is only effected when it "whilts" and then mold grows on it because it didn't move.
Sentience of various properties mammalian and afterlife give the ghost form.
I have a suspicion they are used as weapons.
Let me know if you find their hive queen.
