Are they stuck up, half witted, scruffy looking nerf herders?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSwyNN7ms00

Seems like theres a lot of hate for nerfing the game these days. Did Star Wars make the original insult possible?

But wait... not all devs are scruffy looking.... well maybe after a night or two of heavy drinking.

Are nerf guns what nerf herders use to herd nerfs?Shocked

These questions keep me up at night!!!Twisted

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

They are people, I imagine they have to like what they do at least a little bit, because why would they work there? Those are people that do work, not make decisions for most part. If someone would say to them that SKINs should not be microtransaction asset, they would make them as such.
I think management is more to blame for some stupid decision making and marketing for delivering unrealistic visions. But its completely predictable, they will make errors. I would only expect from them to come back sometimes and look at what was the effect of their past decisions, and overall in the whole industry, what failed, what was a success.

If anyone is wondering this isnt meant as a flame, just a light hearted poke at the nerf herders screaming about all the nerfs they need to herd. Lol

Well... I mostly agree with blaming management.
However if devs have no voice in the company? Then i can see why lots of devs left CCP already. I remember thread from many years ago where people discussed "EvE is dead because devs leaving CCP" and one person said something in line with "People come and go. The game will continue growing. You should only worry when all of these *list of names* left the company". If i'm not mistaken last time i've seen that list it was like 60-70% complete tho....

Best answer yet, I'm afraid I have to be thrown in, in this category too, my thoughts although important to me seem to be of no importance to anybody else, it's crazy how the vision of what we think can be so clear to us but not to others.

Now, the devs like anybody have a boss, that boss says, devs doo do, in the end the boss of the boss is money, if things are headed in a direction we don't understand it would be we just do see what others see from their point of view.

I imagine they would all go after some time, no matter what would be the causes. Like whole dev teams being replaced gradually over years. Its a lot of time. 20 Years.

I think devs can give their oppinions in their field of work. Like if its managable to make something and in what timeframe, like few months or a year of whenever ready.
The ideas about gameplay of course have to come from a gameplay devs. I believe then its all intertvined at the idea phase even, like with new moon mining, they had to make some concept arts and such, I wonder if they asked graphic programmers if anything like that is possible. I believe it is, its like spawning new object just beneath the surface of moon and then gradually moving it towards the mining platform. But the final word is from management if its something they want to pursue and not opening of the CQ doors and giving us pachinko machines.

Something that everyone needs to keep in mind: while this is a game for us, this is a professional career for the devs and there are a LOT of factors at play for anyone when making career decisions. As a developer myself, I can say that it is not uncommon at all for devs to move between jobs with a somewhat higher frequency than in other industries so it is not surprising to see turnover in a company with as much history as CCP. I know that everyone is going to immediately jump on the "eve is dying" train whenever they see someone leave, but I would simply caution anyone to make assumptions or read too much into motivations when it is impossible for us to have full knowledge of the situation behind the scenes.

With that said, I am going to lock this thread before it goes off the rails. There's no way this will end well for anyone involved XD
