ihave numerous items scattered here and there, which i want to sell. some of these are 15-20 jumps away so rather than travelling to the station to sell them, would i be correct in assuming that i need to train "marketing" to be able to sell stuff without actually having to be in the same station as the items?

that is correct, though you can never put up an order in a different region than you are currently in.

Do what I do. Suck it up and spend one day flying around consolidating all your junk and sell what you don't want/need.

That option isn't available to me as I've been playing and accumulating crap all over Eve for between 5 and 6 years. It would take a week P

If you want to make sell orders instead of selling directly, you might also want "daytrading" skill so you can update the price of those orders remotely.

Also for some items you could consider making contracts. You can make contract from any item anywhere without any skills. However Contracting will increase max number of contracts you can have at same time.

If you have a lot of items in one place, just get Red/Black frog or PushX to move them for you. Not free, but easier for you.

Aside from that, 20 jumps isn't that much. You get used to it. Just get an indy with a decent cargohold, like a Bestower (low skill requirements, big hold at that level. Others are better as you train)

Woo! CSM XI!
