o/ I've been looking into cloaky hunter pvp, the stratios to be specific and every fit I've seen whether it's a neut or laser stratios has garde sentry drones on it. I was under the impression that sentry drones were optimal for long range sniping against battleship/battlecruiser targets not cruisers in scram range. Does having a scram web fix the sentrys tracking at close range? Here's the fit.

Good to know. Do you fly neut or laser stratios?

Neut. Close to your fit, but 1600 plate instead of one DDA, cap recharger and cap booster. No shield extender. 57k or so HP. T3s are like butter.....

I carry some Vespas but have not had to use them yet

If you are in scram/web range, why would you not use heavies? They do more damage and are mobile.

that shield fit gives you 35k buffer, an armor buffer strat gets almost 60k. It also gives you a sig of a battlecruiser with very little speed to make up for it. You also lose valuable mid slots.

The damage is impressive, its more than most cloakies but it isn't enough to really change your engagement profile beyond some recons, T1 cruisers and smaller. T3C's will over match your DPS and have way more tank, or at least have way more tank (loki), HAC's will match your DPS and have more tank, T1 BC's will also likely match DPS and have double the tank plus cap warfare wont work on them because they have much bigger cap reservoirs.

As for recons they probably wont beat you but properly fit they will likely get away. Pilgrim/Curse will cap you out in 20s/10s respectively and warp when your scram drops, ECM and Damps can be used to break target and run as well. The Minnie ones will likely be screwed. This is basically the same as the lower DPS Armor buffer strat except that the two mid slots you use on Shield extenders can be used for other things which can allow you to engage more targets.

As for the Geckos, they are kinda pricey, I used to use them when they were 25m each but not anymore. They put your pricetag up into T3C territory and don't really give that much of a damage bonus, the tracking is better but that can be achieved with a second web or a drone upgrade. Omni damage is also hit or miss, against some ships its better against others its not.

As for neuts/lasers. If you want to keep the Glass Cannon Shield fit (which I don't think is bad btw) you need to go full Cannon with lasers, neuts take time to work which you wont have with low EHP. If you go Armor, use the neuts.
