In situations as this, i begin to ask myself how many users / developers go to lose CCP Games for the ESI transition. In my point of view the little pet projects dont must need a whole new architercture to use. In my real life many of my work is making electronic interfaces for digital invoicing, sealed for and by my counntry IRS, and the process to do so is les complicated than the ESI.

All character bazaar done. Finally 39 pilot and 3 can be killed later. This account will be used only for forum interaction, fly safe.

A CCP employee said that they were looking into developing a new service which would fix both the in-game notifications and out-of-game API notifications.

Hopefully its just a temporary period where we can't find out the validity of our subscriptions.

XML API must die. That's all.

But I agree some "account wide data" must still be here (actually, just one : subscription status). Now we just have to wait for steve to harass CCP to make them add that endpoint in ESI :D

The problem is they have to give the same data in the replacement.

No need to wait. I have been talking with them about it.

However, I'm now pretty sure they're not going to move on the account/character divide. So I've been asking for them to make sure the most common requirements are covered. like 'can X fly a ship' (this should be coming with an 'active_level' option on your skill list. Alphas showing the full skill level, but with an active level that's appropriately capped) and 'when do all my accounts expire' (I've been asking for it to be in, for example, the launcher)
