The ESI is designed to only be able to get the logging in Character, it is not account wide.

It's not something which has been overlooked.

It's an explicit design decision.

In essence that makes spying easier, right ? At least once the XML API is gone.

Really strange decision, as if the game had not enough meta crap.

edit: as I went deeper into that matter, it appears to be a decision endorsed by the CSM. I do undertand the rational of deliberatly having three really independent free slots. I guess recruiters will adopt.

It's not endorsed by the CSM.

We're just accepting that CCP have made this decision, and have been unable to change their minds on it.

(There's things where we'd seriously like the ability to query account data from ESI. such as account expiry)

Why not consider trying to organise some protests where providers of popular EVE tools cease providing their services - if it get's enough traction then it will should bring enough attention to users who might not know otherwise and have them complaining to CCP too.

Because it's a nuclear option to use.

And over something which is, tbh, not a _major_ deal. Any spies caught with API keys were crap ones. It's far from difficult to avoid those checks finding anything.

Well if they aren't listening (as usual) then the nuclear option would be the one to go for if it's the only thing they'll pay attention to.

And it has usefulness beyond catching spies - they can't claim feature parity with the XML API on one hand and then start jetting features.

They always told there won't be feature parity for account data, moreover SSO Team != ESI Team, so you can bother them with that as much as you want, they won't / can't do anything about it anyway.

You want to have all character from an account ? Make them login once per character, that's all.

And "spying arguments" are irrelevant since no real spy would ever be catched like that (and CCP won't ever do anything just because of spies)

What I really miss in ESI is a way to see how long your subscription is running. If you have several accounts, it becomes cumbersome to keep track of that.
