I have questions about cloaks.
1. Can a person engage his/her cloak while warp disrupted/tackled by enemy?
2. If they can cloak.....Does the warp disruption lock and effect stop?
3. Can you fire your weapon in general direction, without lock,of a cloak ship and maybe hit it?
4. Can you somehow ping a certain radius close to you, like destroyers do to find submarines, to find a cloak ship/general area will give off some sort of minor signature?

AoE effect weapons (ie smartbombs) and some environments (sleeper sites gas clouds) will still damage a cloaked ship. You can in theory die while cloaked.

AFK cloaking is the direct result of PLEX prices, you know... Smile

its true if there were more afk cloakers plex prices would be cheaper

I didn't test it but got a suspicion untargeted AOE weapons can hurt cloakies.

Missiles and drones can decloak so if you have a bunch of wrecks or other targetables around you and shoot at them randomly any cloaky in 2 km "cone" of missile path will get decloaked. Or deploy drones and make them orbit you or something nearby, like a wreck.

There (might) be an Observatory somewhere down the line, and possibly more decloak mechanics. (grr afk cloakies grr).

Only at the cost of local, which would remove afk cloaking anyway. Are you willing to pay that price?

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

If by ping you mean smartbomb and minor signature you mean wreckage, then yes.

TBQH that would be a nice special ship ability. If it were up to me™ I would "make it so", but I could not figure on which ship should have it.



Or maybe a module. A cloak already lays some gimp down on a ship. So taking up another module slot for that "F**k this s**t I'm out out of here" module would gimp it more. But think of the play. What do you do with a ship that take too long to lock and whatever hampering such a module would take in cost?

As for decloaking, I recall a trick explained to me in 2009, possibly a goon tactic they used with Grid Fu, where they would bracket an area and send drones on "assist" and hence the little drones go running off to the assistee. Do this back and forth and you have a huge wave of drones flying about and anything in the midst has a good chance of being decloaked.

This was back when people actually took risks (so I'm told).
