Manufacturing stuck in unfueled Cit

The title is basically the tl;dr but here the full story:

I didn't want to add to the citadel-cluttering (and I would be able to produce for a while until my own citadel would benefit me) and found 2 rigged Citadels run by a small corp with 0.5% and 1% respectively. I started to run manufacturing capital parts there and everything was fine.

A week ago the Cit ran out of fuel, the Ceo of the corp does not react to messages and my production is stuck. The main problem: a job for an orca.

What happens when I cancel the Job? I've heard materials disappear and the BPC loses 1 run. Is there any course of action? Declaring war, killing the Cit and hoping for asset safety?

/e: I am starting to understand why everybody plunks down a Citadel and does not trust others ....

If you cancel the job, you get nothing back except a BPO (if you used one). The EC I use for production has run out of fuel twice - I presume some real life event took precedence.

There is no doubt in my mind that CCP anticipated this - the trade-off between the economy of renting and the control of ownership is an "interesting choice".

So, if I leave the process active, the only downside is the missing production slot?

what happens when the citadel gets destroyed?

Same as if you cancelled the job. Work in progress has a normal chance to drop as loot except BPOs which always go to asset safety. People are unlikely to shoot the structure for fun and there is little profit because of asset safety.

It's possible the CEO is simply enjoying a 2 week vacation in the real world and everything will be OK next week.

Or the CEO stopped caring. I suggest seeing if their corp has a public channel and ask there, if not, might as well send a mail to their entire corp asking if anyone is capable of fueling the structure and onlining the service modules. If neither pans out and your job stays stuck in limbo for a while longer, you may just need to eat the loss and avoid "privately owned" public structures in the future.

EC really don't use that much fuel, and have unlimited capacity, so it is a crime to run out of fuel.

One EC will get through a DST worth of fuel every month. Given you need several ECs because so they're so non-functional compared to a POS, its not exactly 0 effort to keep them fuelled.

Visit "Haulers Channel" in game for all matters courier-related.

We put a year of fuel in each EC. We have 9 Raitaru.

Fuel consumption is similar to about 3 large towers that were replaced.

Happend to me too. I have send a mail to the EC owner together with a small donation because they had their taxes set to 0%. Got a repley that they just didn't notice and the job could be finished the next day.
