Yes, the first rule in Eve is, "don't fly what you can't afford to lose".

That being said, no one here can tell me that losing an expensive/rare ship doesn't sting.

Props to the Vanquisher pilot, he's taking better than most.

The guy who can afford to fly the Vanquisher and lose it like that is the equivalent of the rich dude in the giant mansion with a massive collection of Ferrari losing one of his Ferrari to a car accident.

It stings, but not nearly as much as you think it does. And it stings not because of how expensive the thing is, but because of how hard it is to find this exact same thing on the market, especially if it's a rare thing.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

Should be more concerned that a Phoenix was the top damage dealer on the KM.

Given a large and slow enough target, it should probably always be top. Titans fit the "large and big" bill pretty good.

The Phoenix gets a bad rap, and it's not fair.
