FC ships and my e-peen

so crazy idea if the FC ships get added why not make them some kind of flag ship?

simplest way to do that is give them buttons like on the T3d or a scriptable mod that when activated projects a corp logo, alliance log or ceos face similar to how the new structures have.

the fun way to do it is give us several sizes.

they would all have identical stats bigger ones would just cost more

maybe sub cap, capital and titan sized

only reason to use the bigger one is to rub it in your enemies face and have a bigger projected flag

the problem with FC ships is that 'headshotting' equally affects players enjoyment of the battle. Not just FC's.
Any player who is sitting there boringly pressing F1 on the called target then suddenly explodes without any chance to do anything about it isn't exactly fighting a heavily engaged fight.
Sure it sucks a little more for an FC, but the root problem is the ability to alpha anyone off the grid, not just the FC. The root problem is the one we should fix.

The root problem isn't fixable without implementing janky, probably abuseable, and thoroughly controversial mechanical changes.

The difference between a line-member getting nuked and an FC getting nuked is that the FC dying often ends the fight entirely, where as that's pretty rarely the case for a line member. Unless it's an Alliance Director and they throw a fit or something. Lol

my bad this was not meant to be should fc ships be added but an if they were

main reason i made it is do to the idea of a boring super tank ship being... well boring

Okay, so Fc's tend to fly super tanked ships because it is important that they remain on the field. the brick tank helps to make them a less enticing target if they happen to get primaried. but the main thing that keeps them safe is blending in with the fleet.

your suggestion completely destroys that, and is like pointing a big ol "shoot me first" sign on you. (although its possible uses as a decoy is interesting, its not worth the dev time.)

Most successful FCs are known to their enemies and get primaried regardless of what they are flying. Blending in would only work if you spammed a million alts or fought someone for the first time.

Their idea is already to have a class of ship for this there would be no blending in either way. My idea doesn't make them blend in less

Anonymity works for some groups and some fights, but for bigger groups with a few very well known FCs that doesn't really work well. You may also have spies in the enemy coms who can just tell you who the FC is.

Obviously there's going to be some trade-off here between anonymity and tank, and in smaller fights it's probably better to just have the extra guns, but I do think there's value in CCP's idea of an anti-headshot ship, even if it's not the go-to for every FC in every instance.

Tbh i see my group using it by putting one or more of our fcs alts into it while having the main flying something useful. More as a back up do it's not worth the time grinding through all their hp while we are hitting their actual ships. Even if they are alphaing them wasting a volly or two may put them at a disadvantage with trades

Yup, and that's pretty reasonable. Though honestly if they balance these things right I see them being very slot-lite so they can't be abused, and having an absolutely massive tank, like at least 2x what a Damnation can pull off right now, to the point that a lot of fights with these things are going to end with one side or the other ceremonially pinning down the FC ship and getting everyone they can on the kill as they burn him down.
