I am looking for a decent ship for running c3 combat sites etc i am not sure which would be best for the job, i have so far got on my list rattlesnake, tengu, gila. i like the gile but not sure if it would manage the sites on its own. i like the tengu but using that means buying ammo rather than relying primarily on drones, i like the rattlesnake but i have no idea how to fit it as its like a giant slug when it comes to movement. i also understand it has to be passive fit.

So can anyone confirm i am on the right track ship wise. i forgot i also have a dominix hull lying round in space somewhere, could someone please link me a decent rattlesnake and dominix fit for c3 wh sites

cheers

You're on the right track excpet for solo gila which is considered under powered for C3's since a low slot was removed. Rattlesnake is certainly capable. You want a passive fit with MJD. Google " Eve Online C3 Passive Rattlesnake fit" and you'll get plenty of results.

Tengu is also very capable. Lots of choices of fitting depending on how fast you want to clear, or how safe you want to be from a gank. Google will return lots.

I don't think the Gila was ever the optimal ship for C3s, Passable when it had more lows sure but not great as almost all of its slots were tank.

A Legion, Tengu, or Proteus all run C3s with ease (excluding the 2 hard Sigs), I'm personally turn off by the skill loss. The Tengu is most likely the best due to its OP subs (Who puts the max PWG on the regen sub, or a double range bonus and full DPS) however the optimal bling mods do cost a lot more in most cases.

I am currently using an active Snake as it allows for fewer low slots for tank and there is no need to sit on a depo. As far as GTFO goes, I have a MJD installed which has saved my ship a few times (**** on DS, MJD out). If a Cloaky T3 or whatever is stalking you neither a T3 or Snake are getting out.

This is my snake, It can run all but the Recursive Solo (refit an extra SBA and a Flux Coil for the last wave of the Data base) . I'm hoping that with the cap Regen changes coming soon i'll be able to drop the Flux coil or a Battery.

Stopped using T3s for WH PVE before I trained into the other T3s so I don't have validated fits. Tengu its are pretty much everywhere, Proteus can be fit pretty much the same as the Legion but filling the Explosive hole and with Rails and 2 webs to kill frigs.

Please for the love of Christ do not passive tank your Rattle. I'm so tired of people passive tanking anything. Active tank is the way to go for PVE unless the neut pressure is so heavy you cant get any sort of active tank fit.

The exception to this may be if you try to run the relic and data sites. They have significantly more DPS than the anoms in a C3 but even of those only 1 is really a pain to do.

That said. The Gila is a bit nerfed, and not a good choice IMO. The Tengu is good but a bit slower than a Rattle.Last time we checked (Which has been a LONG time now) the Legion was a touch slower than the Tengu. The Rattle is the king of the C3 unless you go marauder but even then I think site times are similar. Or near enough as to not justify the extra bil on the marauder
