UI scaling is not enough for current standards

The UI scaling can be set to 150%, but that is not enough when playing in 4K resolution. I play (or want to) play EvE at maxed out resolution on a 1920x1080 monitor and that works just fine (still nice fps), but the UI is to small at that resolution even at 150%. Can the devs increase the scaling up to the percentage that it looks normal size in 4K reolution on a 1920x1080 monitor? We have good graphic cards nowadays so I want to make full use of it :>

Explain whats so funny then. In what PC specs 'standards' do you still live in?

Any decent modern gaming graphics card can easily run EVE in 4K... if it werent for the UI scaling that is maxed at 150%.... which thus should be increased to 200% or higher even.

Steam's hardware survey still list primary display resolution above 1920x1080 haven't cracked 10% yet. That's the march 2017 stats. For 4k, we are probably talking about 2%. Even if you go so far as call it completely off base and triple the 4k share, it's still a fairly small minority right now.

As I said. I also use a 1920x1080 monitor. There is really no need to have a bigger monitor than that. However, I do usually increase the ingame resolution to 4k if it is supported, because it looks way better having 4k resolution compressed to a 1920x1080 monitor.

So that Steam hardware list does not really show what setting people really play games on. It only lists the hardware and their native resolution.

And some extra UI scaling bothers no one, it only helps to play the game at the fullest settings. And it will also not be a big time consuming thing for the devs to add.

This is a recurring theme and there are dev posts on the topic that you should be able to find with a search.

Basically CCP has a backlog of features they want to add to the game. These are prioritized based on the value CCP thinks they will add to the product. UI scaling for 4K monitors currently represents a lot of work for a very small number of users. As 4K adoption increases, so will the priority of updating the UI.

They just have to add an other button in the UI dropdown menu and copy/paste the 150% scaling and change the values on that piece of code. Does not seem that complex or time consuming to me. Even a game like Terraria supports this... and thats just a 2D pixel art game.

Cheers for the link. What the dev in that topic does not realizes is that playing in 4K resolution is not the same as having a 4k monitor. Most people I know with a 'modern' gaming rig play with a 1920x1080 monitor, but also play the games on highest resolution possible. He said that only a very small percentage uses a 4K monitor and he is absolutely right on that, but at least 50% of the gamers have a modern decent to high end graphics cards nowadays that easily can run EVE in 4k resolution on the normal 1920x1080 monitor.


Edit: I also read now in that topic that more people are making the same point as me :>>

And here's me upset I can't set the UI to 50% to give myself the real estate I so wantonly crave at FHD.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.
