Closing of Care4Kids Alliance

I think back to when this was I crazy idea that I had of where I/we the EVE Community could come together to bring some small measure of distraction and a smile to some kids who were having a tough life. Kids that were in hospital from many countries facing the daily struggle of dealing with their sickness with nothing to do except stare at the four walls and roof of their hospital room. Many months ago, we achieved this goal. We brought EVE Online into hospitals, with the help of too many to name, both ingame and out of game.

We came together.

I think back to the assembling of care packages of frigates and implants. I think back to all of the conversations trying to explain the benefit to people. I think back the onlining of the Maila Keepstar and what an achievement it was. I think back to the kids, smiling as they undocked into this great game that we showed them. Most of all, I think back to all of those who said it could not be done.

We did it together.

So my friends, I am firstly here to thank all of you who rather than said it couldn't be done and closed your hearts, said yes. Those who donated PLEX, ISK, modules, ships, space. Those who donated real life money and hardware. Those who spent their time making this dream a reality for those in need.

We shone a light into the darkness.

For all that we have achieved both within EVE and within our global community, we have made EVE Online and the lives of some kids who were struggling that little bit better.

We should be proud.


With this statement, The C4K Alliance will be winding up operations over the coming weeks, both within Cobalt Edge and Low-Security Space. Having fulfilled its purpose and transcended just EVE Online, it no longer is appropriate or practical to maintain a single alliance within a single game. The ‘RL’ C4K Charity will be continuing its work with hospitals worldwide bringing computer games and other forms of entertainment to those in our communities that need it most.

The closing down of operations of The C4K Alliance leaves several high value assets to be transferred and dealt with. As such, the Keepstars, Fortizars and other deployed assets will be transferred to Ghost Legion. [GL], with the assumption and condition that it will continue to serve the NETC network allowing safe free trade and travel for all citizens of New Eden. Ghost Legion, in conjunction with its allies and partners move to ensure that the entire NETC network is protected, maintained and expanded upon to greater ensure free trade and travel is available to all. I wish Fafer, BOPE. and the members of Ghost Legion. good fortune and fair (solar) winds in this endeavour.

The members of C4K Alliance are being afforded all opportunities to be placed in the alliances of their choice to maintain the friendships that have developed over the lifetime of the alliance. This may take some time to find a home for everyone. I personally would like to wish all the members of the C4K alliance the best in their future endeavours.

Once again I would like to thank everyone involved in making this project a reality and from the bottom of my heart wish everyone that was involved or who supported us, the very best of luck in their future endeavours.
