Like I said, they are niche and inferior. Deal with it.

The problem is you not correct.

Afterburners are not supposed to be in direct line on par with Micro Warp Drives.
It is in the name for FFS

Learn how to pilot and STFU already you dumb bleating carebear *****.

I am a better pilot than you will ever be.

You just said the exact thing I've been saying that these idiots have been arguing with - that afterburners are niche and inferior.

The problem is you have no clue what you're talking about.

But thanks for agreeing with me.

You seem to have miss-read something somewhere.

Niche, yes, inferior no.

Niche != Inferior.

You're looking at one specific use-case like it's the god-case for all of Eve when that's just not the case. Are MWDs better for your specific use-case, yes. That case isn't ever case though, nor is the one case where you consider ABs useful the only case for them.

They're tank, we've been saying this. The reason ABs with MWD speed are OP is because you then have a very good speed tank combined with MWD speed, and the agility penalty doesn't make up for this.

You seem to have misread (MISREAD) something somewhere.

I never said niche = inferior.

But they are inferior.

It's not a specific-use case. It's a flying spaceships case. MWDs are just superior.

I also never said there was only one case where ABs were useful. There is certainly more than one. But they are still inferior.

Would they have MWD speed? I haven't seen any numbers to prove this. The two-afterburner idea would have a slower top speed than oversized afterburners do currently - wouldn't they? - if not it would surely be something similar (or have them stacking penalized so that it's not overpowered, derp), and oversized afterburners are currently nowhere near MWD speed.

In the current kite heavy meta yes mwd does have the edge. But I remember when sig tanked brawlers where the meta. Especially for frigates. No one used mwd or shield because of the sig bloom.
Long range kitey ships where the exception rather than the rule.

Then they made some balance changes to tracking. Kite ships became much more viable and the meta changed. Now mwd kite is king. But that could change again at any time. AB is not inferior, just different, and needs to be flown differently.

If you try and fly an AB fit like a MWD fit your gonna have a bad time. And the same is true in reverse.

Kiting is not only superior in practice but in philosophy as well.

It's just better not committing to scram range where you get scrammed and webbed down. Kiting allows you to avoid getting dog-piled the way brawlers do. You're free to maneuver, re-position, run away, etc.

And MWDs are just better for kiting.

Afterburners are not "just different", they're just worse.

Maybe once upon a time afterburner ships were better but they aren't any more.

imo ABs are inferior if you are:
... solo in pvp and have no specific ambush location
... using a longpoint
... not using a web

they are superior if you are:
... able to ambush an opponent in a specific loaction where you can dictate ageression range
... having a scram and web fit
... in a ship that supports missiles or guns with very good tracking
... in a sanshas nation ship
... in a dualprop fitted ship

i dont nee the need to fix anything ABs are good as they are, oversized ABs bring considerable drawbacks, and id rather fit an oversized one than two regular ones and use a mid slot

they are superior if you are:

... in a sanshas nation ship (meh)
... in a dualprop fitted ship (logic who?)

Fixed that for you
