Total rubbish. Unless it's a deliberately profitless freighter gank (which happen but are VERY rare) ganking is almost inevitably the victims mistake. The mechanic they should have used is to transport less value at once, quite obviously.. Pirate

Not to mention the huge list of other precautions most of them never take.

Oh dear hot air and no detail of this huge list.

1. Do not AFK
2. Watch local
3. Use a scout
4. Set them -10
5. Use a webber
6. Never take more than 1bn
7. Dock up at the sight of any danger

Does that sound about right? Such impressive counters, I almost came writing themShocked

Literally you just agreed with me. Even you knew enough counters to list.

What's with the bit i underlined / bolded? Are you a child or something?

Anyway there are loads of ways to avoid being ganked, to the point most people manage it just fine.

I pretty much agree with the OP. I'd add this. There is no one single right way to play Eve. That is the point of Eve. Eve is harsh and part of someone's way to play Eve may very well including blowing your stuff up, crushing you in the markets, taking away resources you had planned to gather or tricking you into giving them your stuff or isks. Eve is the kids playground where all supervision has left the schoolyard to have a cup of coffee.

When another player does something "evil" there is no point in trying to understand what made them do what they did. They did because they could. So log on and just agree up front your time spent in Eve comes with no guaranties. With that in mind there is enjoyment to be found out in the "verse". Find some like minded pod pilots and trying working together to do something. Or don't and go your own way.

Try and be a little smart about protecting whatever it was you managed to acquire. While in theory Concord is there to make you safer they can'd safe you in every case. If there is someone out there willing to lose enough to blow up your stuff Concord can't save you. And Eve has many pod pilots who have decided "their" Eve is all about blowing up your shiny at whatever the cost.

Eve is like a game of chess where the chess club you belong allows tipping the board over for a small fee a legitimate move. How has a game like that survived for over a decade? When it means that there are greater challenges in such a game that makes it attractive to folks that like that extra level of play. You don't have to play at that level to enjoy Eve, just don't take it personally when the freedom of Eve play style means your labor fruits are stomped into mush on the way to the market. Think of those encounters with the players that want to stomp your fruit as an encounter with a boss mob who shares similar AI with you.

Survived? It stagnated. Yea there a subset of human being that play chess by tipping over a chessboard because they lack the skill to play chess. CCP made a big mistake by switching to catering for them.

Had CCP not made the move into the baby pool that attracted gankers and morons EvE would very likely have broken 1,000,000 subs or better.

For Eve Online to break 1,000,000 subs it has to have one things it does not have

1. A safe area of space, 40+ systems where weapons cannot be activated unless at war or that system area is a SAFE SPACE for anyone i.e safe zone.

To many gamers require security, we do not have it, therefore we will never break 1mil subs, it's that simple

3. Solo PvP is dead, we need more players.

This is complete and utter bullshit, I get 1v1 fights non stop, I never have to look very far, the bottom line is, if you choose to run around In dramiels, comets, firetails etc then expect everyone in a ship that CANNOT stand up to that to run away, if you want to level the playing field then become part of that level instead of showing off your ISK abilitys.

You get 1v1 fights non stop.

You have 7 kills and 5 losses.

The only solo pvp experience you had was losing a thrasher and a pod.

Let's address one thing, shall we. Don't talk out of your ass.

Actually there are more, but they are the ones that I often see put forth by gankers, the bit which you underlined is because all of the possible counters are passive, in other words not exactly exciting, item 7. is of course the most exciting one of all, but I have to ask you do understand sarcasm, do you?

Anyway as I keep pointing out the only thing I have lost to a gank was a thrasher when I was shooting some Russian ones.

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

Point & Game No?

What has a killboard to do with this post fella?

Point Proved me thinks

You are casting dispersions...

It's cast aspersions, not dispersions...

AG fails at English and EVE...

Thank you for correcting my English, you are quite correct it should have been aspersions. In my defence I had drank a bottle of wine when making that post, but it was amusing to make such a mistake. Can you also point out where I type teh instead of the, I do that a lot and it annoys me.
