I do have very disheartening Slow GTFO (My first desperate try at a Battleship- and much too Lumbery slow for me) so I may have to go back to Mining or just fly my Anathema or Viator. I am wondering why I bought a Stratios? except it looks nice.

I am even losing Warden II's at 70+ km.
All through the L3 and now L4 often lose Hammerhead II's).
My first l3 was a disaster until CCP put it right and gave me another Myrmidon. Yes I have 2.
I Know that 250mm Railguns are light but still waiting for 250mm + Turrets skills and why I tried Sentry's)
All Drone skills seem OK but not perfect.and as far as I can see none missing.I do have hard copies of all the skills in abc-I think, which is a heavy amount of paper..and massive reading.

Any advice would be appreciated unless, its go back to Scrabble.

OK that fit is not great. I prefer to armour tank my Domi's see below;

You don't need the guns but you do need the TP. Paint the trigger so the rats shoot you and not your drones. If you are not using it yet then look at http://eve-survival.org/ for mission walk through's.

Pulse the rep as needed you don't need/want to be cap stable. When you get into the mission start painting and wait for the rats to agro you BEFORE launching drones. Stay near your drones and if they get agro pull them in, wait for agro to change back yI have assumed you are missioning in Gallente space hence the Kin/Therm hardners. Have a spare EM, Explosive and ENAM in your cargo hold so you can change resists to fit the mission damage type as needed.

If you are going to shield tank, add 2 rat specific hardeners, or at least two invuls. I'd recommend doing Armor tank (armor reps + hardeners) though and adding omnidirecitonal tracking comps and maybe a paint in the mids instead of doing a shield tank. The paint will help grab some of the aggro. A single remote rep might also help with both aggro and sentry survivability.

You should aim for the Rattlesnake, but as far as Domi's go - I prefer a snipe fit. Get 120km out with a MJD and snipe small ships. Rep your drones if they take damage. Here is a cheap fit that can do most L4s, but not all of them. Also be sure to change hardeners.

Thanks so far folks,
I did think about a Rattler but same again short of skills, atleast no-one thought losing a WardenII was much.

I have been considering Armour but when I see 71000 on Defense it seems OK

Thanks very much

I also prefer a sniper fit, and I think the fit above is a bit overtanked.

My fit:

[Dominix, lv4 runner]
Damage Control Unit II
Energized Anti-Explosive Nano Pump II
Large Armor Repairer II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II

Large Micro Jump Drive

Large Capacitor Control Circuit I

Hornet II x5
Vespa II x5
Caldari Navy Wasp x5
Warden II x5
Vespa EC-600 x5

Scan Resolution Script
Tracking Speed Script x2

(all hand-typing, might misspell something)
an MWD, an MTU and a mobile depot in cargohold

if you control the range right, you can do a lv4 blockade without taking any armor damage.
remember to change drones according to the rat type.

Just wanted to say it's always better to be safe than sorry. There's no shame in dropping back to level 3 missions while waiting for skills to get trained up.

Anyway, hope you have good luck and much success.

71000 is a lot of damage to soak up, but no reps means no staying power. Most of my fits are around 30k-50k but can repair another 100 every second, and I fit resists which multiply my repairs by 2 or 3, heck maybe more. Also I can actively pilot to take less damage. combine those factors and I can stay on field till the mission is done.

I like that your fit has an AB and a MJD so you can learn to use both of those to position yourself in the mission to max your damage and minimize incoming npc damage.

the other thing I can say is learn to pay attention to your drones, sentries have nice HP and should be scoopable before they get popped.

I agree with you am trying to jump ahead too fast,

So Back to level 3's whilst Allow Skills to develop properly.

I believe Skills are the B all and End all of this game, as long as one does not waste time on the wrong ones.

For other Newbies struggling - I have only just realised that all Faction Drones have to be Skill Trained decently to use their Drones.

I would have noticed in in the Drone Info, if it states that it is an Amarr/Gallente Drone or whatever. So really because I like the Idea of Drones I only Trained up Gallente fully.

Quite obviously I dont read properly,

A good Job we have decent people to help us.

Thanks
