The UI is in dire need of a face lift. This, to me, is a minor issue. The biggest issue is that the stock UI looks like the inside of a 747 jet to a newbie, and there's no way to mod it to make it simpler. Add to that, after you play a while most of your screen real estate will be taken up by Overview, D-Scan, Fleet/Corp Chat, Local Chat, Drone Window, Cap Thingy, Target Boxes, and that little 3 square inches in the middle devoted to all the pretty graphics.

Every single person I've introduced to this game has been resistant to get into because of the UI.

So what are you saying is CCP needs to copy WoW's ui? I honestly do not see any way to make the UI simplier while retaining the same functionaility and information it current has all of which is important.

Just because you're not creative enough to put forth a streamlined solution doesn't mean Eve needs WoW's ui. The UI is cumbersome and not attractive at all. It's silly to have arguably the most beautiful MMO seen only through a tiny porthole in the middle of the screen.

They need to implement a system where other players can create custom UI's so those of you who want all the info at once can have it and those that want more minimalist stuff to enjoy the graphics can have it as well. Other MMO's have done this with great success and it would take a load off CCP.

Oh yes. This has been bugging me as well. It can be pretty annoying, especially as with some components, the order in which the attributes are shown are somewhat more logical while with another meta version they're all over the place.

This has been the case for several years now.

The only truely sad thing is that even the UI elements introduced more recently are just as bad.
Looks like CCP are trying to keep riding the horrible UI concept until they finally decide to drive it off a cliff altogether instead of improving it gradually.

Yup, look at the PI UI. It's hideous! I don't know which non-Eve-Player-Product-Owner and wannabe UI specialist approved of those fixed size windows with that laggy and distorting animation to change size. Even better: The duration slider! I loath it, changing cycles is getting you quicker to antidepressants. Good news: a double click will install a formula, a double click on the product will activate a router, sweet. That is one way, the other way, routing something from a spaceport will always open an info window on a double click. Consistency: Not in Eve. And don't forget those oh so gorgeous hovering holo building, which REALLY add to the immersion of interacting with a planet. Hell it's just blocking my view.

Odyssey: Repacking in POS hangars for modules +1,  but please for other stuff too, especially containers. Make containers openable in POS hangars.

(jk, I MIGHT even take a look at moving the buttons a bit apart when I get back from holiday - for all you fat finger people)

While you're at it you should stealth swap the "Jump" and "Destroy" buttons in the jump clone interface.

What, you think you brought enough popcorn? Twisted

Why in gods name is the Analyze and Recover Active Probes buttons so close together!??!? I have fat fingered the recover active probes button more than i care to discuss.

Gotta say, the whole thing hurts my brain...or rather eyes. I've had those little blood vessel things burst 3 times now, only while playing eve. After playing for an hour, possibly two, I found my eye to go rather itchy and then later on go red with all the veins exploded. I don't really play that much anyway, kinda makes me not want to play at all.

Not sure why though, guess it's the tiny font on a black screen all the time.

Can we get an analyze hotkey while we're at it?

Somebody probably allready mentioned this, but I'm too lazy to read.

Why are the 'Warp to' and 'Jump' button so close together.

It's a pretty effective way to get rid of drunken pirates camping a stargate to high-sec space.
