Lag During Probe Scanning

Hey there. So I've picked up the game as an alpha, and trying to do some exploration to make ISK, but I'm encountering a bit of lag while trying to scan down sites.

Everything is just a little delayed, especially while the probe spheres are on screen. Trying to click and drag to move the probes, change the scan radius, or even just move the camera around all takes longer than it should and is not smooth at all. Zooming way in to put the sphere borders out of the frame or zooming way out seems to speed things up, but of course I can't do proper scanning then. Any suggestions?

I'm currently running Eve on a 2012 Bootcamp'ed Macbook Pro at about medium-low settings.

Hi,

Has it always been like this or has it started happening recently? It could be a mixture of anything if I am honest, from a lot of people using your internet, to maybe even server lag which I highly doubt.

Your character looks so similar to mine! How funny.

Anyway, when I used to play on Mac OS, it ran better, but everything else sucked. Now I have Bootcamp, and a large external monitor and am playing at something like 1900 x 1200 resolution. I have made sure to turn the settings down, and usual space stuff seems to be running just fine. It's only the probe scanning that's giving me trouble.

Internet connection/bandwith/etc. has been repeatedly and recently tested and is solid. Hmm...

You might wanna try clearing all cache files in Eve's Esc menu - 'Reset Settings' tab.

Also check your computer for option to do Disk Cleanup on OS drive.

As much as this is a good answer, OP please ensure that you know what you are doing when running disk cleanup.
