Some times my ship got stucked in that structures while trying to accelerate.

You may consider to modify that launcher design to a cylinder mesh or something similar.

Would be prettier and more.Arrow

Fly over the gate and then align along it. People literally do it in fleet of battleship without bumping on the gates or their fleet mate. Most of the time anyway...

This is a forum. A place for discussion. If you've already determined it's a bug, file a bug report.

I'm going to build a big wall that will keep the Gallente out, and they're going to pay for it!

It's not a bug it's a feature, literally.

The fact that you can bump into things and get stuck on them is a gameplay feature, people sometimes use this to their advantage when fighting in proximity to 'terrain' like stations or gates.

It's not a bug it's working as intended. The acceleration gate is a physical object with which you can collide. If you bump into it, fly the opposite direction a little bit then align back. We do it with many battleship + logistic cruisers for incursion and still manage to not bump both the gate and other ships. Surely you can do it too.

Actually, it's not. A bug implies the code is behaving in a way that is both undesirable and unexpected. This may be undesirable, but it's not unexpected. If you get too close to another object you bounce off of it, and/or get stuck on its geometry.

The technical term is working as intended.

If you warp in @ 10km you land within range but not so close you bounce of it.

lol it's not a bug it is indeed part of game play. we have used this to catch a lot of foolish people who warp to 0 rather than 10

Ok..getting stuck is not a bug but I like the cylinder design..with that it doesnt matter if you are up, down, left or right. The ship arribes from any direction, you align the front and jump.

That's what you already do with the current one. Arrive from any direction, align toward the correct end of it and then warp. Changing the model would not change anything except how it look like and people would have to re-learn what the model is so they know where they can align to make sure they do not bump on it.

The devs have tweaked it a few times over the years to try to get it to be less annoying. I suspect those tweaks were in response to support ticket requests for reimbursement. And yeah, it can be annoying but I'm not sure it's "broken."

This is already how Acceleration Gates work, this would be a purely cosmetic change.

Also a big cylinder would make it *easier* to get stuck on the thing, not harder.

While I'm all for the 2005-era Acceleration Gate design getting an update this is not the way to go with that.

Getting occasionally stuck on the gates sucks, but I suspect there's also a potential game mechanic there.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Getting hung up on objects has been a part of this game since I first started experimenting with it in 2009. Yes CCP could rewrite parts of the game to eliminate getting hung up on objects, but they should not do this because your poor piloting abilities / decisions should enforce some form of penalty on you.

In the end this is not a game problem this is a pilot error problem pure and simple.
Like kicking a drug, alcohol or tobacco addiction the first step is to admit that YOU are the problem not the thing your struggle with.
Once you have gotten past this first step the rest is easy as other above have stated. Simply warp to 10 and then right click the gate and select activate. Your ship will move in a straight line towards the center of the gate, upon reaching a distance from the gate equal to the maximum activation range your ship will align with the gate and you will warp away cleanly every single time. I know this to be true because I have been doing this in missions and escalations since I started this character in 2010 and the only times I have been stuck on gates is when I the human pilot of the ship made a mistake.

No I am not against changes to the game, I am against changes that eliminate the punishment of the careless and lazy among us and this idea does exactly that. As the other have stated warp to 10 instead of warp to 0 and your problems would be solved.
