7. Discussion of real life religion and politics is prohibited.

Discussion of real life religion and politics is strictly prohibited on the EVE Online forums. Discussions of this nature often creates animosity between forum users due to real life political or military conflicts. CCP promotes the growth of a gaming community where equality is at the forefront. Nationalist, religious or political affiliations are not part of EVE Online, and should not be part of discussion on the EVE Online forums.

Dearest OP, my dear friend

You are completely correct of course.

It would be of great interest if you would please elaborate on your opinion you expressed in another thread that warring parties in EvE should not try to interdict each other's transports because that is against the Geneva Convention.

Thank you in advance.

I don't really think we need to bring another thread into this mess. I believe I stated, around post 35, that this is exactly what would happen, if the admin didn't close the thread down at this point. In fact, I suggested that they do it, and they clearly declined.

*shrugs and walks off*

If you want to request a thread closed hit the little flag up on the first post and type your request there. Simply saying you want a thread closed in a post is going to have precisely zero effect.

Yup, I'd say I have to agree with most of your assessment, Cade, even if you delivered it somewhat snidely using terms with the worst possible connotations. I have a certain worldview developed over time based on experiences, learned values, and a certain type of upbringing; it's the matrix through which I am forced to try to make sense of what is otherwise an incomprehensible world. If that sounds familiar, it's because we all have that, though the 'glass' that you view the world through will be differently shaded than mine, you nonetheless have one. Anybody who tells you their 'glass' is perfectly clear, they are unbiased and completely fair, is lying to you, or insane. In either case, they should be avoided with much haste to depart their immediate vicinity.

I'm extremely unlikely to modify those traits entrenched deeply since youth, such as a belief in fair play, a mistrust of power, and a belief in humanity's naturally flawed state. Take all of those and pretend you're making a request for information from me, from a position of power. Do you really think you have a chance in hell of getting it? Am I a cheat and a liar, and up to espionage, by being honest enough to flat out refuse? Like many have pointed out, if I were up to no good, I'd approach this very differently, and construct an elaborate cover, obsequiously trying to grant your every demand.

As far as spending any time running a decent sized organization... Again, do you really think my personality is compatible with holding power? I despise the rapidity with which authority corrupts people. Why would I ever put myself in a position that is very likely going to tempt me to violate some of my core values? I'm a much better worker than boss. Being a boss is stressful. Being a worker is great. When I get tired of your crap, I just pull up all the stakes, wish you good luck, and take off.

As to your question here, no I don't think they have much chance of getting it, but I also think you're being inflexible and showing a distinct lack of understanding and openness to others world views. The idea that there might be a definition of fair outside of the one you've constructed for yourself seems alien to you.

In fact your entire world view seems anathema to the general view people take with Eve, but instead of accepting that and moving on to a game that's more amenable to you you seem to have decided to rage against it on the forums. Either because you derive some perverse pleasure from displaying what you view as your moral high-ground or because you're a troll I'm honestly not sure.

In either case, as has been repeatedly explained to you, this is Eve it is not real life, and the vast majority of people who play this game enjoy the way it works. Otherwise they wouldn't be playing it.

I'll tell you the same thing I told the drill sergeants in the army. They stood up giving us that spiel about how they were gonna break us down and remake us in the army's image. I couldn't help it. I laughed.

'What so f*ing funny, private?'

'Well, drill sergeant, I was sorta planning on breaking down the army and remaking it in Christ's image.'

*long pause* DROP!

Well, I had to drop, and a lot, every time I saw the guy, in fact, but he was not counting on my father having been a drill sergeant during the Vietnam era, and me having read all their training manuals. So, no, I was not terribly intimidated.

I'm still not intimidated, by a gaming gang, Cade.

Oh. I am very sorry to have offended you at all by my thoughtless posting, then. I assumed because of your many strident presentations of your opinions on that post mentioned you would be 0k if not proud for it to be brought up, sorry.

Some might mistakenly say you hijacked that thread where the guy started out talking about jump freighters and supply, but it seems obvious that your many posts were necessary to stand up for what is right and against the bad sociopaths that make up most of this terrible game.

I was quite impressed by your wise sayings. You are obviously a solid guy unlike most in this cesspool of a "game".

So impressed I was hoping to include you in a small group of elite investors I am partnering with to take advantage of a (honest, of course) financial opportunity I have found. Only 1 Billion isk will buy you one share in our plan and return to you 1.4 Billion only one week after all shares are gathered and the investment activated. Just because you are one of the good guys I will offer you a special chance to buy into the group with more than one share if you like. You will of course understand that I cannot discuss details of this opportunity in order to protect the isk of the other investors. (safety first!)

I do hope you join us in this opportunity, EvE needs more good players such as yourself if we are going to turn it into something better than the hive of scum it is now.

I also hope you have no doubts, but if you do - trust me.

All the API does is offer a way to interface with the Application Programming Interface of the EVE Online server.

Hardly any private data, which is EVE Online trademark / CPP corporate data.

Invasion of, breach of or anything related to private data will not occur on or be planed for this plane or platform system for the next 20 +years or so, or 200% to 150% + of the past life cycle period 1 (from the published start, from the user-end).

Select API, right-click, right-click menu, second section from the top after the top menu section, Search Google for "API":
Application program interface (API) is a set of routines, protocols, and tools for building software applications. An API specifies how software components should interact. Additionally, APIs are used when programming graphical user interface (GUI) components.
