Out of curiosity I am looking for a corp and some of them want me to use a seat.corpname.com web site

Normally i'm used to going to their web site and or forums

Any warnings or horror stories I should know about before using that site? Or is it just another API management site?

We can't know without more information.

If it wants you to log in with EVE credentials, make sure the login form is a CCP site (login.eveonline.com).

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.
