So, the thing you never forgot, you were told in game, in an act of bad taste, right?

Hmm...

I purchased one and everytime i ask in game about it, I just get a bunch of crap from players about how I should fly other ships etc. I dont want to fly other ships, I want to fly my Tempest.

So, hopefully there are people here on the forums who can give me some advice on the best way to outfit this boat, and some ideas on how to play it, because to me it seems that if I fit this boat correctly it could put up some pretty mean firepower and be a real asset to any fleet or any fight in general where it can sit back at range and let those big guns fly.

Thanks,
Culamity

Best thing first: The Tempest got cool art.

But I am sorry, the Tempest and Tempest Fleet Issue are not an asset to any fleet or fight in general. Hardly any pure DPS battleship is. One more tackler, scout or e-warfare ship of any kind is fine most of the time. But DPS and logi ships have to follow some kind of plan. While logis have to match the tank of the DPS ships (obviously) and run with or without cap chain the DPS ships should match each other in range and speed. A couple of Tempests with logi support and some ships to help damage application are quite capable (look for “Sailboat” doctrines) but a lone Tempest in a fleet or gang isn’t as good as one more mainline ships would be. So you either get some more players to team up with you and form a Tempest gang/wing or you better bring whatever the doctrine DPS ship is. Nice thing with the Tempest is that you can fit it with armor or shield to fit your fleet logi.

If you play it solo you might be able to surprise other players, because of the variable fitting options. Mimicry a ratter and try to neut them with the two large utility slots. But damage application to smaller ships will always be a problem solo. You can get a couple of suggestions here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/3comd1/thoughts_on_the_buffed_tempest/

Yeah, I thought him blowing my Tristan to pieces was in bad taste. He could've just told me.

If you are going to PVP with your Tempest Fleet Issue, I suggest looking up zkillboard for fits. If you are a friendly enough guy you can also ping the fit user for tips and tactics on flying the ship.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

The last time the fleet tempest was worth using, it had copper piping for sails. And I doubt you can even find a picture of that, let alone a player that remembers it.

The tempest hull was my first battleship and space-love. That was 2004, it's had a rough development history since.

The maelstrom took away any sniper role, between it and the post-love phoon, the tempest doesn't have a niche where it performs well aside from: big battlecruiser (and in this role it does do well)

As a previous poster highlighted, the fleet version of this hull is every bit as lackluster as a fleet version of a ship can be.

If there was any justice in the world it would receive an extra turret and call it a day but I dont think this ship has ever been on CCP's radar and I doubt it ever will be.
