Thinking of getting back into eve

Been away since June 2016.

It has moved to Free to play.

I have limited free time now and rather busy. EvE became too slow paced for me to do anything worth doing. Got tired of waiting for fleets to form and everyone being late and started doing Indy but free time became limited so stopped that too.

I am wondering if pvp is faster paced now. Solo pvp seems to have been unchanged from the sounds of it. Group pvp still seems the same.

Trying to weigh the pros and cons of coming back.

It's probably not going to be that much different then you remember.

But Alpha is free... so log in, get some alpha-frigates and fly around. The point of Alpha is to try it out in a feature limited version to see if you want to return. No harm in giving it a whirl.

Theres faster paced pvp in factional warfare but of course that limits your highsec activity. There's also suicide ganking if you have a friend or alt to scoop the loot.

Really there's somewhere in eve for most playstyles but it's on you to find what it is.

This post brought to you by CCP's alpha forum alt initiative. Playing the eve forums has never come cheaper.

since june 2k16???
nothing changed Cool

but you can always come back for the juicy community, the retards you can find in fleet and.... yea basically for EVE!
many guys just don't log in, let their character skill up and stay on comms to smile with others and pass some time ;)

Yeah that is very common. I could see myself just afking all day again.

Getting fights in FW was very difficult no one wants to fight on par with one another. Will warp out before an evenly matched ship or same ship comes in. Other than that you are looking at getting swarmed.

The Fleets were just get more numbers than the other party and keep building numbers.

The Gnosis is your new friend...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

I think many would take an even fight any day. Problem is, that the consensus seems to be that even fights don't exist outside of Eve NT/Alliance Tournament. If it looks like an even fight, it's probably a trap.

You're much more likely to find someone in a T1 frigate acting like a ****** on a wormhole or a gate, say. And that's about it.

Hello and welcome,

Due to game patches happening every 6 weeks this game is constantly changing. Some changes are for the worse but overall most changes are for the better. Despite all it's faults, Eve is still the best MMORPG SyFy Space game available.

Anyway, I sincerely hope you decide to stay and if you do, may you have good luck and much success.

if it's a fair fight, you dun goofed.

There once was a ganker named tisi

A stunningly beautiful missy

To gank a gross miner

There is nothing finer, cept when they get all pissy

You could sit there deliberating about it, or you could hop into an alpha clone.

Pros: it's a space game

Cons: all the rest of the gameplay + most toxic community and interactions of any MMORPG ever

Plus one of the worst F2P systems I have seen in many years. I'm not even sure why they even tried to make that Alpha clone.

Well it worked at getting me back. Came back, flying T1 rifters and ruptures... staring at the Ishtar that I couldn't fly anymore...

And subbed.

I've heard of others doing the same.

@ The OP, while restricted ship wise you can play for free, you've got nothing to lose, apart from your ships Pirate

Attitude is often what determines the nature of the community and any interactions people have with them.

Your attitude for example, it stinks. You want the game to conform to how you want to play; change your attitude, change how you play to conform to the game, and your Eve experience will become exponentially better.

Gameplay wise, Eve produces some of the most interesting gameplay out there, mostly due to the freedoms it allows and the social interactions that arise from them.

Everybody is free to try and play as they wish, not everybody is going to succeed; the freedom to play as you wish includes being able to interfere with the gameplay of others as long as you stay within the rules of the game. That conflict of interests between players is what makes Eve interesting.

If you can't handle the freedoms offered by Eve, I suggest that you play one of the thousands of games out there that don't allow the same level of freedom, several of which happen to be space games.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
