Who cares?

I could be killing you because I don't want you coming into "our space". I could be killing you just because. Does it matter? Not in my opinion.

Just because I have a reason you do not understand does not make me insane. And even if that is the case...who cares?

Who cares? You might want to watch the last half of 'Mirror, Mirror.' Conquest is easy. Control is not.

If you have no greater aim to your murder, then the murder is for you. I may have lost a few ships in my short career, but I challenge you to find a record where I ever ganked anyone.

I've still never lowered myself to your level. Anyone I fight, I even let escape, if they can't finish the job.

Dude, as much as I like Star Trek, I am not going to impose the Star Trek vision on EVE. They are two different things.

I don't care why somebody kills another pilot in game. I really don't. For whatever reason they want to is fine by me. Maybe it is profit. Maybe they consider that system "theirs". Maybe it is just opportunity. I don't care.

It isn't a question of "level". Again it is a question of philosophy. I'm fine with "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law." Apparently that bothers you. That it bothers you is fine. What is not fine is you seeking to change the game based on our differences in philosophy and forcing our views on everyone else. My response to that is, get out of ****town.

Why is my seeking not fine? I have a philosophy. You have one,.

Why is my mere seeking to overturn the status quo, NOT ok?

Because your philosophy is one of control, constraints and limitations. Mine is one of "do what you want." Mine allows for yours, so long as you limit it to you and those who think like you, whereas yours will steamroll mine via Dev fiat.

Your attempt to draw a false equivalence is noted and rejected.

Well, that's not really true, is it? You've made yourself a nice strawman to beat down.. If you all want to be asses and beat me down after 27 more days, when I have to fly, due to mechanics of the game you liove and support, I;m here to remind you - you wasted your time. Of course you can beat me down in that cast, all my T2 gone, ships mods, drones, and skills.

You big man, you. And you know what, I don't even bother with the holy trinity. I omit the warp scram. If you want to flee, you can.

Yes, I'm such an *******. On the flipside, what's the killmail worth? You killed someone at less than half strength. Why, you masterful warrior, you!

TL;DR of the OP.

I want!!! and feck everybody else because I'm incredibly selfish.

OP, biomass your characters, trash your stuff (it's contaminated) and play a game that suits your needs, because Eve obviously isn't it.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I don't even know what this means....

Look if you want to only fly Gallente and armor doctrines because you are Gallente. Fine. I don't care. Knock yourself out. You sound like the Provi Block guys.

Where I draw the line is when YOU want to FORCE that view on the rest of us. Nobody has come out in favor of your view. Pretty much everyone has said, "No, that idea is not good." Some base it on game balance, some on lore, some on both and some on the idea of a sandbox.

You have not made even a weak attempt to justify your view other than a lot of Star Trek references. Eve is no Star Trek.

Nobody is stopping you from pursuing your Gallente Purity dreams. Start a corp, an alliance even. Go try and carve out some NS sov space in the name of the Gallente Empire like Provi Block.

Just stop shoving your ideas down everyone else's throat. mmkay?

BTW, I just want to say...that you have got Jonah this annoyed is impressive. He is far more level headed and cool. I'm usually the one that flies off the handle. I'll credit my son who was in the room for many of my replies....he is very, very tolerant, and a goodly amount of Bushmills.

That's a lengthy response, when you don't know what this means...

Look at it this way. I don't care where some random schmuck (that being you) draws his line. From what I've seen of your morality, in general, those that play this game, that you can even PICK a place to draw a line, is hopeful!

Yes, Jonah, it does, ifI can convince enough others of its worth. I'm trying to do that. I will probably lose.

But, yes, I am trying.

If Elon Musk wanted to buy a non-military, standard Hummer and then fit it with armour plating, guns and a tonne of electronic equipment that would make it equivalent to a military specced vehicle, he could. You know why? Because he's super ******* rich and the rich play by different rules.

Same would be true for a middle eastern Prince or oil baron.

Hell, drug cartels have operated submarines in the past (and possibly still do).

You know why we can do the same? Because we're super ******* rich. We don't play by the same rules as normal citizens.

If they're alive/exist in 20,000 years living in some galaxy across the universe.

You don't think Blackwater/XE (or whatever the latest incarnation is) or other private security firms operate military spec vehicles?

Why is what you want more important then the collective wants of others, not to mention the wants of CCP?

There's no probably about it, your "idea" has no merits and zero worth.

You have provided no reasoning for why this should happen beyond "waaa alphas can't get everything Omegas can," "because that's the way I think it should be," and "well this other unrelated game does it this way." I would say that your rhetorical defeat is more likely than "probably."

Not empty quoting.

Jonah plays his way...while at the same time realizing others will play their way. That these two play styles might be at odds and present challenges for Jonah...is fine with Jonah. He takes them as exactly that, challenges. Things that make the game interesting. So instead of trying to limit other players he expands his play style to adapt to those who are opposing/opposite him.

IMO, that is the right attitude. Jonah does not need somebody telling him when his stuff is safe or not. He'll take care of that himself, thank you very much. Yes, Jonah may fail here and there, but he accepts this. His opponents make the game challenging for Jonah and he in turn makes the game challenging for them. I find this awesome...apparently you do not.

And that style of interaction is writ large across all of New Eden. Some are prudent like Jonah and more often than not succeed. Some are not prudent and find that their ship has been burnt down and half their stuff taken. There is a RL lesson there, BTW, do not put all your eggs in one basket. We saw something like that with Enron. Many Enron employees dumpe all of their retirement funds in Enron stock and then got burnt badly. Here is Eve Online saying, "Don't do that".

And no, what Jonah wants does not trump what others want. Play how you want, that is Jonah's view (if I may speak for Jonah). If you want to be some Gallente Purist...fine. Go for it. Nobody is literally stopping you. What Jonah does not want is your view of forcing everyone into their factions ships and only their faction ships. One is open ended and welcoming, the other is closed and hostile. You are closed and hostile. Jonah is open and welcoming.
