Exploit Notification – Illicit Transfer of Items & Ships Between Upwell Structures

2017-02-20 12:02 |By CCP Falcon

An issue has been brought to our attention this morning, which allows players to teleport items and ships via misuse of the trade system.

The issue is currently being worked on and this notification serves to inform pilots that using the trade system to transfer items between Upwell Structures is considered an exploit.

Abuse of this exploit will be actioned as per the EVE Online EULA.

Can someone tell me what this is all about? Not very much info from CCP. I just want to make sure I don't do anything to violate the EULA but it's difficult when you don't know what it is....

I can't program my game right, therefor it's an exploit if you misuse it not according to our intentions of how it should work.

It's against forum rules to discuss details of Exploits.

It's fairly easy to imagine how they did this, but you shouldn't be sniffing around for an explanation. You're highly unlikely to do it accidentally Pirate

What do the structures transfer their contents upon death? I could see that being an issue day 1.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

I assure you OP you'd know if you were violating this, because you'd have to either be amazingly careless or know exactly what you're doing to make this exploit happen.

If there is a way that do something in a video game through a broken mechanic, people will do it.
It's not the players fault CCP can't code properly or think ahead before they release new features.

When something like this happens in wow, blizzard dont post idioticy telling the players they will be banned if they do it. Blizzard rather just go straight and fixes it. Items roll backs might happen, but they don't threaten their players for doing something that is primarily their fault.
