Also fleet up with a couple of corp mates. You'll be able to run more sites a lot faster and have fun flying with other players in your corp.

This is excellent advice. There is strength in numbers and you have a better chance of securing the prize.

It's official: This event sucks. Basically fun for the first 24 hours and that's it. Even Alphas aren't running these... The only thing great about this event is that it paid for a PLEX and a nice PvP fit.

This event sucks because no alpha can actually get thier loot, someone always comes in and steals it the moment the last enemy is destroyed.

Exactly this. I've made about 20 attempts, 90% of those i managed to get there first, still I only got 3-4 skins, always somebody comes in, finished what I started and walks away with the prize. The best part about it, a few times i did manage to get the last kill somebody who is nearest steals it. My first event in EVE and a huge letdown.

I will certainly grant you this. While this event may have been geared to Alphas in high-sec, the odds of successfully completing it against an Omega are really stacked against you.

It's a mottled camo pattern like the Machariel, except it has a gradient from a beige to crimson red. It looks really good on some ships. Others - not so much. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, though.

How did you get your skins? The only thing to have cargo is the battlecruiser, and the second it is destroyed the loot is already gone.

More than 30 sites done ... no drugs/boosters in wreck ... does my luck leave me or just this event is only for Gallente Skins ?

I could just be unlucky, too. I have not heard of anyone getting an accelerator and there are no new ones listed in the market.

I know how it feels. In my first event I was really angry with other people "stealing" the site. Meanwhile I'm used to this kind of "competition", that's what most people call it.

Just keep going and try to optimize your setup in order to complete these sites faster. It's also a good opportunity to learn something about Tracking, Angular Velocity, Optimal Range and all that stuff, especially if you have problems with the initial wave of frigates.

It's next-to-impossible for Alphas to compete with a Polarized setup that travels in excess of 6AU/sec, deals close to 2000 DPS, sports 3 webs/grappler and basically insta-locks targets.

I don't know. It hasn't been that bad for me. I've gotten to run these sites a few times, and apart from a couple of ugly examples (i.e. several players competing each other out for one lousy SKIN), I've had a decent time of it. Several times when I was the first man in and someone else warped in after, they left when they saw I was already halfway through it. (But I am not based on trade routes, so that might have something to do with less ugliness). And I do the same. When I warp in and there's someone already there, I let them have the site. I'm not about to quarrel over a tiny SKIN.

These SKINs aren't that good anyway; only a few of them happen to be good-looking renders (Brutix, Incursus and its T2 variants, to name a couple).

And, yes, these are all Gallente SKINs. Which sucks for me, because I don't fly Gallente ships. The Brutix render does make me want to fly it, though. Major improvement on that one.

I was running with a corp mate last night, and it was pretty fun, and we were able to practice flying a cruiser and destroyer vs frigates, etc, and enjoyed the process if working to update our builds to take down the faster frigates.

(Did have one site where a larger ship came in late to the cycle to take out the larger ship and leave with the loot. Shrug, it's Eve... Things happen.)

I think it's a nice change, and how can you go wrong with a few new skins. (But I might be biased since two of my characters are Gallente....)

The icon of the SKIN shows as orange, yes. On the ships themselves, the tone is rather redcurrant-red.
