Does it really seem likely that a bunch of different people working on some kind of dangerous pathogen all had containment issues the same week?

It's an outside possibility, but these might be separate labs working on the same projects under CONCORD Directive α-γ 12, and making simultaneous, very unfortunate discoveries.

If there is a pattern then we only have to answer two questions.

Where will be the Federation Target be?

Where is the singular source for the attacks?

The seriousness of the pathogen is evident by quarantined zones.

The arrogance of national governments is that they are prepared to extreme measures with millions (perhaps reaching into the billions) of their ability in dealing with this matter.

At this point information should be released to what the pathogen(s) is and number of dead.

The common thread now is the fact that all communities infected have been contained, thus allowing whatever it is to spread even more quickly inside those barriers protecting the public at large.

It's a quarantine. It's not meant to protect the people inside, it's meant to protect the people OUTSIDE from whatever's inside.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

Quarantine is not isolation of those infected. It's isolation of those potentially exposed, so that a disease might burn itself out in a segment of the population instead of expanding to the whole.

The two failures of quarantine imply either of two things: first, that the pathogen might be more virulent than otherwise suspected, meaning that authorities underestimated potential exposure. Second, that the pathogen might able to bypass existing biohazard containment protocols, which is quite a statement in these times.

My suspicion is that it's the first. However, we lack information.

Another possibility is that it has been intentionally introduced into the population at different points. Also, Genolution was one of a a few Jovian Empire corporations that were transferred to SoCT about a year ago. And Efu is quite near to Fountain. In this case though, there are space stations present in the system, two of which are SoE stations. The other two are Zoar and Sons.

For those that didn't notice, it's in the scrolling ticker. Before there's any widespread panic, this actually doesn't change much. Well, it proves me very very wrong as I scoffed and ridiculed those who called Kyonoke, but the situation is much the same. Set up aid and rescue centers for evacuation where possible, stage combat vessels and break out our particular brand of mass destruction where it is not.

The deployment of the staging is going ahead as planned, and it's not like I wasn't readying a military arsenal as well as the emergency personnel anyway.

Why...Is that the ticker and not the main story.

"ATTENTION! Pirate outlaws have started gathering across the cluster to party and maybe smuggle a few drugs and weapons!"

"Oh, Also the worst virus mankind has ever discovered has been detected somewhere that isn't the Kyonoke Pit, but whatever."

Shocked

“Where must we go...we who wander this wasteland, in search of our better selves?”
