Playing Eve Online on a second screen

o7,

What works best for me is to play Eve Online in windows mode on a second screen (with my MacBook Pro Retina, 15-inch, late 2013 model).

I use two tools to have Eve Online properly displayed:
- SwitchResX
- BetterSnapTool

This is what I do:
- Connect the second screen (a 4K TV in my case).
- Select the resolution you wish for the second screen with SwitchResX (up to 7680 x 4050 in my case)
- Launch Eve Online
- Move Eve Online windows to second screen with BetterSnapTool
- Maximise Eve Online windows on second screen with BetterSnapTool (as the proper resolution may not be listed in Eve Online for the window to be maximised)

I am sure there are other ways to do it. This one is pretty straightforward.

I have yet to see if I can automate the whole thing with SwitchResX with the application monitoring feature.

I think I'll try it this way.

I was attempting to do this natively in the client with going windowed mode, switching resolution and and adjusting the center point for the monitors, but I ran into a problem. At first it worked fine for a few minutes but then the second half stopped showing on the adjacent monitor. I could drag the windowed screen and see the overlay, but when I drop it to reposition it the window disappears. Basically it shows on one monitor but not the other.

I thought maybe it had to do with the multiple desktops the OS allows but that wasn't the case.

Ah I figured this out. Under Preferences > Mission Control, you can uncheck "Displays have separate spaces". Reboot and tah-dah!
