Rumble in the Thunderdome!

At 2am on January 30th this year, ISDs Buldath of General Discussion and Max Trix of the Crime and Punishment sub-forum entered the Thunderdome to decide the title 'King of the Forums'.

The dispute which lead to the final showdown emerged in the Out of Pod Experience sub-forum, where it was likely missed by many of you.

I've made a short video which includes the backstory to the fight and footage of the battle itself, which was streamed live on the ISD STAR Twitch channel.

Hmm that's the second fight. The first fight I had him in hull when the boundary popped me.

is like when public transport fills up and less people get off than those getting in...
The result is a jammed packed system which cannot take anymore and is practically impossible to get off in time.
It's almost a miracle that the thing is moving.

Yeah, during the second round the ships started at 0 km from each other. It was pretty inhumane and pretty grisly, real blood sport like.

Yes, I had the devil of a job there. Unfortunately, the 1st fight was also less favourably presented, so harder to show without commentary (I couldn't see what you relate).

I hope you're not too disappointed; I'm totally with you on the rules - they should have been re-jigged to allow for the special circumstances of the brawl.

This seconds fight is all I have seen but where in hull? That navy domnix has around 190k structure EHP.

So when we get Thundersomes to have proper battles with other players?

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Hi Bertok,

Here is the full version of the stream, including the 1st fight, in which ISD Max Trix defaulted by going over a boundary line and therefore losing the match. I didn't notice the hull bit but haven't had time to look at the footage closely.

Thunderdomes tend to be player organised events and have been happening for years. More esoteric games are also organised by players, an example being Space Buzkashi.

The whole point of Eve is using the tools that you're given to build something new. Just as in ancient Rome our "arenas" are not gifts from the gods (CCP) they have to be built by people.

In the original OOPE thread, Bronson Hughes mentioned that the Crime & Punishment forum sometimes organizes player thunderdomes.
