What the above mentioned argument fails to consider is the tart.

Not those crappy jam-on-a-cracker things ye Americans call tarts but a legitimate apple or rubarb tart.
Quite similar in fact to what ye call pie but being superior in both being appropriately named and insular* in nature.

*Insular meaning of the islands of England and/or Ireland.
