This is why I avoid the forums.

Because people don't agree with you?

Would be a pretty screwed up place if everybody just agreed on everything.

I also agree with the others. As a game, there has to be things to do. If we turn everything progressively over to deployable structures or other automated processes, then why play?

Not because of not agreeing, but because you throw an idea out there and you immediately get **** on like its the dumbest idea in the world.

It's not that your idea is particularly worse than the average, it's that it's like the sixth poorly thought out, lazy, or just kinda bad idea that's been posted on here today (not actual numbers, but you get the idea) and after a while people get kind of snarky, especially with ideas like this that are so blatantly "please give me more reward for less work"

Like, I get the impulse on your part, but this isn't even remotely close to an MTU. At least with an MTU the benefit you're actually gaining is pretty small. You're basically trading one module for slightly better wreck grouping and centralized loot. You still need the ability to collect the loot, and with Marauders fitting a Tractor Beam yourself isn't much of an imposition.

Salvage is a bit different though, it's very skill dependent for a start, and there's a very distinct trade off to having enough salvagers to be useful or deploying salvage drones that doesn't really exist with the MTU.

Basically an MTU is replacing one module that many common mission ships could still fit anyway. An auto-salvage deployable would be, as you yourself admit, replacing an entire dedicated ship.

If no one you know wants to salvage cause its not worth their time then they don't have to. The loot prices will be better for it.

I can certainly see your point there.
