Eve clients freeze and not responding

Time to time, randomly, my EVE clients freeze and become not responsive. It does not crash or lose connection to the server, because my pilots stay active, until I force close the clients. It's something you would expect to happen when updating video drivers with game launched.

All clients are in windowed mode. It really bugs me off. I play on multiple accounts and sometimes all clients will crash and sometimes just one. I got GTX980ti with latest drivers updated. Cleared cache but nothing helps. I can't reproduce bug either. Seems to happen randomly.

Having this issue on a laptop.

Seems like something is leaking memory in my case as the game reports using only ~1gb of ram while memory usage climbs until all 16gb are used (reports modified memory making up a huge chunk of it, so it does not show up under a specific applications memory allocation). Once that happens, I can kill the game and restart but it continues the same behavior.

What is weird is that this just started happening, and the client that hangs is COMPLETELY locked - unable to be closed, can't force close - can't even kill the process. Logging off and back in shows that it remains in memory with 0% CPU utilization and 0% disk writing - it's almost as if it is hung on a kernel-level process. It has only started happening in the past 2-3 days for me - and I can't think of any drivers I've updated in that time, other than updating McAfee - so I'm going to dump that after the next occurrence and fall-back to windows defender.

Same exact thing happening to me as well. Also getting extreme UI lag minutes leading up to the eventual freeze
