Railguns have great DPS, I don't know what you guys are talking about. Artillery has the worst DPS. Missiles have okay-ish DPS. Lasers and Railguns both have great long-range DPS.

The linked fit has 2 empty lows, so not sure what goes in there. I would fit it like below. Not a big fan of dual tanking armor ships as its not as easy as doing it on a shield fitted ship.
The reactive armor will adjust to the damage it takes. Not sure if you have tanking problems, but you can test ships on the test server for free.
I prefer using the 350mm as they track better and apply damage better. The only place I use 450's is on my kronos. If you have tanking problems I would switch out the energized adaptive and DC for mission specific hardners

You're in a Mega bro. Rails excel on Caldari. Megas were born to end ships foolish enough to come into blaster range. If you like the Mega go with a dual armor-rep and a dual web setup with as much relevant dmg resists as possible and set your guns into 2 groups.

If you enjoy range, you will clear Lvl IVs much faster with a sentry Domi. You have access to Faction Sentries immediately until you can get into T2. Just drop some Wardens, then as they approach drop Bouncers and then if any are still alive at that point drop some Gardes to finish them off.

IMHO, aside from carrier ratting, sentry Domi was the fastest and safest way to clear Lvl IVs or even Anoms.

Also, fit a MJD in-case things do get dicey. Even throw on a MWD to quickly loot the wrecks.

Missions, missions... Blasters fare very poorly on Megathrons and Vindicators in missions, hence why most opt for rails. The Kronos is really the only ship where blasters shine on missions.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

You should go find another game to play if you think a mega should use blasters.. I can bet you don't even fly a mega or use rails and a domi is the best option. The crazy suggestion of running rails on a or actually doing anything pve related in a caldari bs (rokh) is just hilarious...

Sentry Dominix is a great ship for L4 missions. Be sure to have different type of sentries and other drones, sensor booster for range targeting, omni links, and micro jump drive, 100mn afterburner.

No, the Dominix is not great for L4 missions. Your DPS is going to range from the mid 500's with Wardens to maybe the mid 700's (and significantly less range) with Gardes. Most T1/T2 battleships will fall into the 800 to 1200 DPS range and some of the Pirate battleships even higher, so there are definitely better options.

Yes, T2 and Pirate ships are better. But from Gallente T1 BS - Dominix is the best for L4 missions. In fact, better than most other T1 ships. Domi can apply 100% sentry damage to frigs from far away unlike all of the missile boats.

The OP has played for 2 months and only has gallente skills. Are you suggesting him a T2 BS?

Pretty sure I didn't suggest a T2 Marauder... But Rattlesnakes are very reasonably priced, and even with low skills you'll still be over twice what you'd be doing in a Dominix.

Megas are fine, rails are fine, and Gallente has toptier pve lineup.
Just dont mission in minmatar or amarr space due to npc resist profiles.

And do use mission specific hardeners+ reactive, its really nice in pve.

Also even if smaller guns have bit better tracking, bigger guns are almost always better, since big part of the hitting problems come from the signature resolution of the turrets, not the small difference in tracking speeds. Usually you use smaller guns if you dont have the skills to fit the biggest ones.
