Greetings intrepid testers!

Team Five 0 have a few things for you for the upcoming release (Currently scheduled for February). We'd highly appreciate it if anyone interested in the changes please go try them out on our test server Singularity, let us know what you think and submit bug reports for any problems that occur. There's a lot to get through, so lets get to it!

Changes for February:

  • Personal Insurance is now available as a standard NPC service in all Upwell structures (Corporation insurance will come in a later release after some underlying blockers have been resolved).
  • A fighter squadron launched from a structure will now undock from one of the structure's frigate undock points (They will still automatically begin to orbit the structure once launched).
  • Added an option to reload the ship and fighter HUD to the "Reset Settings" tab of the esc window. (This should hopefully help players continue playing if the HUD becomes broken or unresponsive in high load situations. Always remember to defect any issues you find, even if this option resolves them for you)
  • Increased the amount of information shown in the industry job cost tooltip. This should make it much more transparent to all users how the expenses for industrial activities are calculated. No changes to the underlying calculations have been made.
  • Additional improvements have been made to the Industry WIndow. All Blueprints available to a character will now be displayed in the Industry Window when browsing Blueprints.
  • Improved the multibuy window by adding an 'export from multibuy' option and an 'add order to quickbar' option.
  • Added a 'buy missing material' option to industry window.
  • We've made changes to the way show info windows are loaded so that opening a show info for a simulated item will give you the attributes on the simulated item, instead of the base version.
  • Show info windows will now highlight any attributes that have been modified (Green for good, red for bad). The tooltip for any modified attribute will display its base value.
  • When hovering over a fitted module, the portions of the CPU and PG that are used by it will be highlighted.
  • A small tweak has been made to Structure brackets to make the L and XL icons more easily distinctive

  • Jan 23rd
  • Multiple Character Training Certificates may now be activated in Upwell Structures
  • Fighter squadrons now inherit the POS password of their controlling ship, allowing them to access authorised forcefields
  • Drones & Fighters: Leaving grid or entering a forcefield (as the controlling ship) now deactivates all fighter abilities

  • Jan 31st
  • Remotely starting an industry job in an Upwell structure when the blueprint is in a container is now possible!

Thats all for now! We have various bug fixes that will be included in the patch notes when they are published and we'll add to the above list if anything else makes it into the release from us.

Thanks and happy testing!

FAQ

Q - Can we insure Titans and Supercarriers?

A - Yes but the payouts aren't huge (For example, an Avatar insures at platinum level for 1.1b, and pays out 3.7b)

Very cool! Let me ask the obvious question: will supercarriers and titans be insurable when docked in a Keepstar?

If they are, their insurance is utter garbage. For example, insuring and losing a Hel nets you 5b isk.

You've got a bit of brown on your nose there...

Insurance in Citadels is a very welcome change but how about the other issues? Excessive lag, desyncs, rubber banding and the dreadful 10 second session change timer in citadels?

These issues are being investigated and worked on and are being treated as high priority, more information when we have it. (Its important to remember that most of the changes listed in this thread were already completed before last weeks release.)

The session change timers in Upwell structures now match the times in Stations as intended. We may take some time to build the timer into the undock button (as it is in a station) to avoid additional clicks, and will communicate that in due course

Thanks for your response

Thank you CCP for striving to make the universe better everyday...

and Earl 'Grey, we will have to wait and see, maybe those are the bug fixes. EDIT: CCP is faster at replying than I am. Lol

Yep, this is possible, but not very worthwhile.

Thanks, this is great!

Any progress on being able to remotely start a manufacturing job in an engineering complex when the blueprint is in a container?

I too, would very much like a solid answer to this from CCP.

Edit: Got sniped by CCP!

Elaborate on "not very worthwhile"?

Slightly disappointing, but not unexpected. Thanks for the answer!

This corp insurance that was mentioned, I assume this is like a player funded auto-srp fund of sorts?

any idea if we could possibly get a repair and repackage ability inside the citadels, to be able to get rid of the module clutter?

Don't supers insure for a fair bit above titans, making them definitely worthwhile insuring? If the numbers on zkill are correct, which they seem to be regarding titans at least, supers would insure for ~6bn profit, getting you 1/3 of hull cost back on insurance.
